Water-Degradable Environmentally Friendly Sanitary Napkin
20230121410 · 2023-04-20 ·

The present disclosure relates to an environmentally friendly sanitary napkin including: a permeable inner sheet configured to come into contact with a skin and allow secretions to pass therethrough; an impermeable waterproof outer sheet having the same size and shape as those of the inner sheet and bonded to the inner sheet by fusion; an absorbent pad fixedly inserted between the inner sheet and the waterproof outer sheet and configured to absorb secretions such as menstrual blood that passes through the inner sheet; and an adhesive pad inserted into an appropriate position between the absorbent pad and the waterproof outer sheet, and provided on the absorbent pad and the lower surface of the waterproof outer sheet, and configured to fix the sanitary napkin by adhesion to the inside of underwear, wherein the inner sheet, the waterproof outer sheet, the absorbent pad and the adhesive pad are degradable in water or are biodegradable.

The environmentally friendly sanitary napkin of the present disclosure is degradable by a large amount of water in a septic tank when flushed down a toilet bowl after use, and is biodegradable in soil, thus preventing environmental pollution problems.

In addition, the environmentally friendly sanitary napkin may exhibit antimicrobial effects against harmful bacteria in the vagina and exhibit an excellent effect on sanitariness by suppressing the generation of odor caused by secretions.

PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCT

The present invention relates to skin care additive which comprises a diester skin care additive which is the reaction product of a fatty alkoxylated ester and a straight, branched or aromatic polyol or poly acid, where the skin care additive provides improved wet lubricancy and/or reduced skin irritancy. More especially, there is provided a personal hygiene product treated with the skin care additive, as such the invention also relates to providing the care additive as a coating on a personal hygiene product. The present invention may also provide use of such a personal hygiene product comprising said skin care additive to prevent or alleviate dermatitis, and in particular nappy rash.

Composite foam in wound treatment

A composite material is described, which is of particular use in wound treatment, and to a method for producing said composite material is also described. The composite material has a first foam layer having a first hydrophilic polyurethane foam material, and, in immediate contact therewith, a second foam layer having a second hydrophilic polyurethane foam material, which second hydrophilic foam material is different from the first hydrophilic foam material.

SOLVATOCHROMIC INDICATOR FOR DETECTING INFECTION
20220323615 · 2022-10-13 ·

A solvatochromic indicator for detecting the presence of a bacterial infection is disclosed. An indicator consisting of Beta vulgaris and further optionally comprising Curcuma longa, isopropyl alcohol, and any combination thereof, undergoes a detectable color change in the presence of an infection. Further provided are filaments treated with the solvatochromic indicator wherein the detectable color change of the indicator is based on the pH of the tissues with a bacterial infection.

INTEGRATED TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE WOUND DRESSING DEVICE
20220323721 · 2022-10-13 ·

The present invention pertains to an integrated wound dressing device for treatment of an insertion site of percutaneous and drug delivery devices. The integrated wound dressing device preferably comprises a transparent film layer having a bottom side, a top side and a perimeter. The bottom side is coated with an adhesive impregnated with an antimicrobial agent. The transparent film has a radius cutout between a central opening and the perimeter. A liquid crystal temperature sensitive film with an adhesive placed on the top side of the transparent film layer is preferably near and around the central opening. The dressing also has a layer of double folded release paper below the bottom side of the transparent film layer. The preferred TLCs used are cholesteryl esters with a preferable temperature detection range of 35-40° C. The preferred antimicrobial agent is chlorohexidine gluconate (CHG).

SWITCHABLE ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS

This invention relates to polyurethane-based pressure sensitive adhesive compositions that comprise curable moieties. The adhesive compositions are “switchable” from a tacky state to a non-tacky state by initiating curing of the curable moieties. The adhesive compositions comprise the reaction product of: (A) a polymer component containing at least 2 nucleophilic functional groups containing an active hydrogen atom; and (B) a crosslinking component that is obtainable by reacting a polyisocyanate component and a ompound comprising a functional group that is curable by free-radical polymerisation and further comprising a nucleophilic functional group containing an active hydrogen atom.

Methods of making bioactive collagen wound care dressings
