Failsafe operation for unmanned gatelines
Systems and techniques are presented for enabling fail-safe operation of an automatic pedestrian access control gate during a health and safety event. Gateline sensor data is received from at least one gateline sensor. The gateline sensor data indicates that an event concerning health and safety has occurred. An alert is generated in response to receiving the gateline sensor data. The alert is transmitted to a remote monitoring device that is remote from the access control gate. A determination is made that a preset amount of time has elapsed since transmitting the alert. A further determination is made that an acknowledgement of the alert has not been received. Based on determining that the preset amount of time has elapsed and determining that the acknowledgement has not been received, a predefined action is triggered.
EMERGENCY OPENING DEVICE FOR A CLOSURE
Methods of emergency opening of manholes in emergency situations, devices and systems for their embodiment and methods of assembling devices for emergency opening of movable elements installed in manholes.
Automatic emergency door closure
An automatic emergency door closure is provided that can be used with an existing door by inserting a hinge pin assembly into knuckles of hinge plates associated with the existing door. The hinge pin assembly is movable between a first position where the door is held in a regular use position in which it can be opened and closed and a second position where the door is released to a closed position. This movement from the first position to the second position may be as a result of a variety of triggers, including a message transmitted from a remote location or nearby heat. The assembly may include a hinge pin body that is inserted into the knuckles, a torsion spring that is configured to rotate the hinge pin body, and an activator that can be activated by the trigger to enable rotation of the hinge pin body.
Self-closing residential fire hinge apparatus
A self-closing residential fire hinge apparatus for closing a door during a fire includes a door hinge with a spring-actuated release mechanism. The spring-actuated release mechanism includes a spring that is pre-tensioned in an open position and a coating covering the spring. The coating is a solid material that retains the spring in the open position. The coating has a melting point less than a melting point of the spring. For example, the coating may be formed of bismuth. When the coating is heated and becomes malleable, the spring is released to a closed position. When the coating is solid and not malleable, the door hinge allows regular opening and closing of the door. The apparatus may also include a spring assembly cap, improving the aesthetics of the assembly. The spring assembly cap may be composed of copper, improving conduction of the ambient heat to melt the coating even faster.
