Gelation of Highly Entangled Hydrophobic Macromolecular Fluid for Ultra-Strong Underwater In-Situ Fast Adhesion to Artery, Lung, Bone and Skin Tissues
Building strong underwater bioadhesion is important for several applications but proved to be an extremely challenging task. In a wet/underwater environment, the water boundary layer hinders interfacial adhesion, which is further undermined by water-induced swelling in bioadhesives. In contrast to current hydrophilic bioadhesives, we here propose an underwater and in-situ applicable hydrophobic adhesive (UIHA). We report polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) tangled with macromolecular silicone fluid as a dissipation phase to provide strong interface adhesion strength. The silicone fluid repels the surface boundary water layer, overcomes capillary break up in water, and rapidly gelates with PDMS, while a small amount of silane (<0.2%) can bridge the hydrophobic adhesive and tissue substrates to an exceptional underwater adhesive strength. UIHA presents in-situ and instant adhesive performances when tested on artery, lung, bone, and skin tissues.
Highly elastic medical sealants for flexible soft tissue
Provided herein are compositions, systems and surgical methods for treating expandable soft tissue utilizing a reactive liquid hydrogel sealant mixture including a cross-linkable electrophilic compound, a nucleophilic compound, and an amphiphilic poly(alkyl)ene glycol block polymer in an amount of 20% (w/v) or less of the sealant composition. The composition can optionally include a viscosifier, in an amount of 0.1% to 1.0% (w/v) of the sealant composition.
NATURAL POLYMER-BASED TISSUE ADHESIVE WITH HEALING-PROMOTING PROPERTIES
A tissue adhesive for contacting a tissue site, the tissue adhesive comprising: a mixture of natural polymers; and an activating agent enhancing the adhesive properties of the mixture of natural polymers. And a tissue adhesive for contacting a tissue site, the tissue adhesive comprising: a mixture of natural polymers; and an aqueous solution of a water soluble starch or a water soluble starch derivative which forms a gel with the addition of the mixture of natural polymers.
TRANEXAMIC ACID SPRAY FOR KNEE ARTHROPLASTY
The present invention relates to novel formulations comprising a sprayable composition comprising tranexamic acid and chitosan for use in the treatment of wounds or injuries, in particular for use as a topical hemostatic composition or for surgical intervention and the process for preparation thereof.
Cross-linking material having adhesive strength, prepared using Burkholderia-derived tyrosinase, preparation method therefor, and application thereof
The present invention relates to a cross-linked material having adhesion prepared by using tyrosinase derived from Burkholderia, preparation method thereof and application thereof, and specifically relates to the hydrogel composition having adhesiveness. The hydrogel composition having adhesiveness of the present invention is injectable through an injection or spraying, and can be used in 3D printing or preparation of adhesive hydrogel medical film, etc.
MEDICAL COMPOSITION, HEMOSTATIC AGENT, AND DISPENSER
Provided are a medical composition and a hemostatic agent which are excellent in both hemostatic properties and retention properties over time, and a dispenser with which the medical composition or the hemostatic agent can be satisfactorily sprayed.
The medical composition is applied to a surface of an inner lumen of a digestive tract of a living body; the dispenser sprays the medical composition and the hemostatic agent, which are powder bodies containing polyacrylic acid and polyvinylpyrrolidone, and the medical composition onto the surface of the inner lumen of the digestive tract; the dispenser includes a main body and a catheter, in which the main body has an accommodation portion that accommodates air from an outside of the living body and that is configured to eject the air by pressurizing the accommodated air, a container that accommodates the medical composition, and at least two check valves; the catheter has a connecting portion that is connected to the container and through which the medical composition flows; and the dispenser is configured to spray the medical composition onto the surface of the inner lumen of the digestive tract from an end part of the catheter by ejecting the air from the accommodation portion.
Sprayable tissue adhesive with biodegradation for wound treatment
Provided are compositions and methods that involve viscoelastic poly(lactide-co-caprolactone) (PLCL) mixtures for use in wound healing. The PLCL mixtures provide an improved anti-fibrotic yet tissue-adhesive polymer sealant. The PLCL mixtures can be applied to a variety of wounds arising from surgical and non-surgical tissue damage.
