Braking device for a movable door leaf and a door closer having such a braking device
A braking device for a moveable door leaf includes an electrical brake motor operated as a generator. The motor shaft of which is rotatable by a movement of the door leaf and which can be controlled for regulating the closing speed of the door leaf by an electronic evaluation and control unit, which is at least partially provided with electrical energy by an electric motor operated as a generator and/or by an additional generator unit. The electronic evaluation and control unit is operable in a sleep mode and is cyclically displaceable into a waking state depending on the closing speed of the door leaf. A door closer with a mechanical energy storage and a braking device is also disclosed.

PASSIVE CRUSH-PREVENTION DEVICE FOR DOORS
The present invention pertains to the technological sector of household items and refers, more specifically, to a passive safety device applied to doors in order to prevent them, when closing unexpectedly, from causing accidents to body parts of humans or animals. Since the safety devices applied for this purpose present the obstacle of being removed or disarmed when the user wishes to close the door (7), the present invention presents a passive combination (1) endowed with rod (2) and fastening element (4) that should be attached to the handle (5) present on the door (7) in such a way as to move together with it (5). This causes the rod (2) endowed or not with a stop (3) to stand between the door (7) and the frame (6) passively in order to prevent the unexpected closing of the door and preserve the security space (8) preventing body parts of people or animals from being crushed.

Retrofit-decorative doorstop
A retrofit decorative doorstop comprising a plush figure having a plurality of appendages and a clamp having a pair of arms positioned in adjacent ones of the door therebetween and/or to prevent the door from abutting a portion of a doorframe.
APPARATUS TO MINIMISE INJURY CAUSED BY AN EXTREMITY TRAPPED BY A CLOSING HINGED DOOR
An apparatus is provided having a foam cushion (9) attached to an elongate elastic member (8). Adhesive pads (10) are attached one to each end of the elastic member (8). A U shaped resiliently deformable handle is attached to the uppermost and lowest cushion (9) and adapted to project through the hinge gap formed between the hinge stile (6) and the door jamb (7) when the door is swung open. The apparatus can be secured to the hinge stile (6) of a hinge mounted door leaf (3) by means of the adhesive pads (10) and with the elastic member (8) under sufficient tension to keep the cushions resting against the hinge stile and the handle projecting through the hinge gap. If an attempt is made to close the door without displacing the cushions 9 from the hinge gap the cushions prevent full closure. To fully close the door the handle is pulled from the hinge side of the door, until the cushions (9) are displaced through the hinge gap and the door can then be closed. The cushions are too wide to pass through the reduced hinge gap when the door is closed. When the door is opened the spring force of the elastic member causes the cushions (9) to pull back through the widening hinge gap.
