The hood further includes an active hinge defining a hood pivot axis disposed between the front end and the rear end, whereby the at least one hood actuator is configured to move only a forward portion of the hood disposed between the active hinge and the front end of the hood.

A system and method are described for providing an air quality alert to an occupant of a host vehicle. The system includes a communication unit adapted to be mounted in the host vehicle and configured to receive a wireless vehicle-to-x communication comprising an air quality value associated with a geographic area outside the host vehicle. The system also includes a controller adapted to be mounted in the vehicle and provided in communication with the communication unit. The controller is configured to generate an air quality alert control signal operative to provide an air quality alert to the occupant of the host vehicle based on a relationship of the air quality value to an air quality threshold value.

The system includes a communication unit adapted to be mounted in the host vehicle and configured to receive a wireless vehicle-to-x communication comprising an air quality value associated with a geographic area outside the host vehicle. The system also includes a controller adapted to be mounted in the vehicle and provided in communication with the communication unit. The controller is configured to generate an air quality alert control signal operative to provide an air quality alert to the occupant of the host vehicle based on a relationship of the air quality value to an air quality threshold value.
Variable air hole covering flap device and operating method thereof
A variable air hole covering flap device is provided and selectively opens or closes an air hole formed in a wheel deflector or a wheel cover to allow air to be introduced toward a brake. The air hole is opened only when brake cooling of a vehicle is more necessary than aerodynamic performance of the vehicle to properly control the aerodynamic performance and the brake cooling performance of the vehicle as necessary.
