Gate assembly

A gate assembly is formed from a gate attached by hinges to a jamb. A pair of L-shaped brackets are attached to the outer sides of the jamb. The brackets are in turn attached to a pair of gate posts in a barrier. Bolt holes formed in the header section of the jamb receive removable eye bolts that may be used as hoisting points as the jamb is being positioned within a barrier. To maintain the shape of the jamb during such positioning, a removable sill section is included in the base of the jamb. The first upright section of the jamb defines an unobstructed internal channel bounded by input and output portals. A cable may pass though the channel and into the gate by way of the output portal. Window openings in the gate may be fitted with removable window panels containing pickets and infill material. Dual gates may be positioned within an enlarged jamb, and a removable mullion post positioned between the gates and supported by the jamb.

WINDOW REGULATOR WITH POWER SUPPLY CONNECTION FOR ELECTRICAL DEVICE ON MOVABLE GLASS
20200262273 · 2020-08-20 · ·

A window regulator for a motor vehicle door assembly including features for providing defrosting capabilities for movable glass of the door. A door wire harness is routed inside a door inner cavity. A defroster wire harness is provided having a first end connected to the door wire harness at a bracket on a window regulator guide rail. The opposite end of the defroster wire harness is affixed to a second bracket at a window regulator window carrier. Electrical defroster element wires are connected to the defroster wire harness at the second connector. The defroster wire harness is configured to undergo a bending motion in a manner to reduce fatigue and interference with internal components of the vehicle door. Other applications include providing electrical power to electronic or electrical elements carried by a vehicle movable window panel in addition to defroster functions.

Touch sensor unit

In a touch sensor unit, a bracket body is provided with a first protruding portion which is disposed on a vehicle interior side of a base portion, a gap portion is provided between the first protruding portion and the base portion, the height from the bracket body to the distal end of the first protruding portion is smaller than the height from the bracket body to the sensor portion. Therefore, when the sensor portion and the base portion are elastically deformed by contact with a blockage, the elastically deformed sensor portion and base portion enter the gap portion, thereby preventing the sensor portion and the base portion from being pressed against the corner portion of the bracket without increasing the rigidity of the sensor portion and the base portion.

COUNTERBALANCE STRUT FOR VEHICLE CLOSURE PANEL LIFT SYSTEM HAVING AN ACTIVE BRAKE AND METHOD FOR COUNTERBALANCE STRUT AND SYSTEM CONTROL
20200165856 · 2020-05-28 ·

A motor-less counterbalance strut for selectively braking pivotal movement of a closure member includes a housing connected to one of closure member and a motor vehicle body and an extensible member slideably moveable relative to housing connected to the other of closure member and motor vehicle body. The extensible member has a rotary drive member configured to drive a driven member and cause movement of extensible member between retracted and extended positions. A gearbox unit has an input operably driven by a rotary output of the rotary drive member and an output operably driven in response to the movement of the input. The output is fixed to a friction plate configured for operable communication with a brake rotor. An electro-mechanical actuator is operable to move brake rotor into and out of braking engagement with friction plate to establish a braking and non-braking condition of extensible member.

Self-contained door hinge release

A door hinge assembly comprises a first hinge member mounted to a motor vehicle and a second hinge member mounted to the removable door assembly rotatable between a closed position and a nominal fully open position. A locking member retains the second hinge member relative the first hinge member when the removable door assembly is rotated between the closed position and the nominal fully open position. A release block and a release tab is alternatively provided on either of the first or second hinge member. The release tab is resiliently urged to a locked position when the removable door assembly is rotated between the closed position and the nominal fully open position. The release tab is displaced to an unlocked position by the release block when the removable door assembly is rotated to an extended open position, whereupon the first hinge member may be separated from the second hinge member.

Door assembly with high and low voltage electrical power supplies for integrated electric devices and methods of operating the door

A door system comprises a door frame adapted to be mounted within an opening, a door pivotally attached to the door frame, a power converter such as an AC/DC converter operably associated the door frame, and a DC electric device mounted to the door and electrically connected to the AC/DC converter. The AC/DC converter is configured to be electrically connected to an AC power unit operably associated with the door system.
