Method and system for securely receiving deliveries
The present disclosure relates generally to a system and method for receiving packages through the mail when a person is not home. More specifically, the present disclosure provides a system for a person to facilitate safe and secure delivery to a receiving module without needing to be present. In some aspects, an administrator may control the module from a portable smart device or other wireless device. The receiving module may be operated digitally, manually, virtually, or combinations thereof. The settings of the receiving module may be controlled by a recipient, delivery service, sender, or combinations thereof. In some embodiments, the receiving module may be installable on a garage door.
Using a vehicle to identify a status of a garage door
Example embodiments described in this disclosure are generally directed to using a vehicle to identify a status of a garage door, such as, for identifying whether the garage door is fully closed, fully open, or partially open. The identification may be carried out in response to an inquiry from an individual, such as, a driver of the vehicle that has exited through the garage door. A detection apparatus such as an image capture system or an ultrasonic sensor that can be a part of a vehicle security system may be used for identifying the status of the garage door. The image capture system may capture and store an image of the garage door when the vehicle is exiting the garage. Upon receiving an inquiry from the driver, the garage door status detection system may display the image on a smartphone of the driver or an infotainment system in the vehicle.
HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A handicap accessibility assistance device includes a drone. The drone has a wedge mechanism at a first end. A controller is configured to cause the drone to approach a door, wedge the wedge mechanism under the door, shift the drone to an opening end of the door, and push the door open.
Non-contact, automatic door hinge operator system
A non-contact, automatic door hinge operator system that allows a common door to be opened and closed automatically through use of a voice-activated sensor, optical switch or mobile app.
Systems and methods for detecting vehicle door closing events
The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving sensor data associated with a mobile device associated with a vehicle, wherein the sensor data includes at least one of an angular velocity vector, a linear acceleration vector, and a rotational acceleration vector recorded over a period of time, determining an event signature based on the sensor data, and detecting a door closing event associated with the vehicle based at least in part on the event signature. Other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed.
Emergency door closing device
An emergency door closing device that can be installed upon existing doors and hinges to automatically close doors in the response to smoke and fire. The improvements incorporated therein include a hinge cam pivot member that attaches to an existing hinge member of a door and produces a moment force about the existing hinge member allowing a reduced force necessary to pivot the door into a closed position. Further, a novel spring, cam, and lever system is incorporated to activate the moment force to close the door.
Automatic power door opening on sustained presence
A power door system for a vehicle including a plurality of power-operated doors is provided. The system includes a passive remote entry device configured to emit a signal to one or more cooperating vehicle receivers and a controller configured to cause the power door system to open the at least one power-operated door when the passive remote entry device signal is received and an individual is detected in a predefined activation zone for a predetermined period of time. The system further includes a vehicle-mounted user detection device. The passive remote entry device may be selected from the group consisting of a key fob, a smart key, a key card, a cellular telephone or smartphone configured with a phone-as-a-key function, a Bluetooth®-activated and vehicle-recognized cellular telephone, a Bluetooth®-activated and vehicle-recognized smartphone, and a Bluetooth®-activated and vehicle-recognized smartwatch. Methods for controlling a power door system for a vehicle are described.
LOCKING DEVICE FOR CAR DOORS
The invention relates to a locking device for car doors, especially for car doors without door handles, having an electronic control unit for the authorization of access, which is connected to one or more sensors for a first operating step, i.e. a proximity sensor, a touch sensor etc. and/or an antenna for a wireless communication, i.e. a NFC(near field communication)antenna for NFC-communication with a smart device like a smart card, a mobile phone, a smart watch, a smart key, etc., and a driven mechanical lock/or unlock unit including a latching element for latching the closed door end position.
According to the invention, a latching element is provided to block an intermediate position 3 of the car door 1, wherein at least one sensor 5, 5′ is accessible and/or active in the intermediate position 3 of the car door 1 for a second operating step and not accessible and/or not, active in the closed end position 2 of the car door.
LOCKING DEVICE FOR CAR DOORS
The invention relates to a locking device for car doors, especially for car doors without door handles, having an electronic control unit for the authorization of access, which is connected to one or more sensors, i.e. a proximity sensor, a touch sensor, a radio transmitter, etc. and/or to an antenna for wireless communication, i.e. a NFC (near field communication) antenna for communication with a smart device like a smart card, a mobile phone, a smart watch, a smart key etc., and a driven mechanical lock/or unlock unit including a latching element for latching the closed door end position.
According to the invention, a latching element is provided to block an intermediate position 3 of the car door 1, into which the car door 1 is movable dependent on a correct access authorization and wherein the intermediate position 3 enables a grip behind the outside surface of the door 1 to unlock the intermediate position 3 and to allow the further movement of the door 1 into the open end position 4.
Door operator
A door operator and a method for set-up of the door operator to operate a door leaf of a door set, with the door operator including a control unit, a drive unit, and a user interface, include the steps of receiving a set of set-up parameters for the door operator, installing the set of set-up parameters in the control unit, controlling the drive unit based on the set of set-up parameters installed in the control unit, and sending the set of set-up parameters to a remote server via a communication network for storing a backup of the set of set-up parameters on the remote server.
