It is described herein a venting apparatus for an opening in a roof. The venting apparatus for an opening in a roof may comprise a structural frame, an adapter, a mount, a hinge, and a latch. The adapter may comprise a frame adapter section, a lip extending inwardly from a portion of the frame adapter section inner surface, and a protrusion extending upwardly from the lip. The frame adapter section may be configured to fit around an outer surface of the structural frame while the mount may be configured to fit around an outer surface of the protrusion. The latch may be configured to receive a signal from a device when the device detects the presence of smoke within the building to cause the latch to change from a latch closed position to a latch opened position.

A backplate for a door actuator, includes at least two mounting elements, one of the two mounting elements being formed for fastening to a mounting surface, in particular door, casing or wall, and the other mounting element for accommodating the door actuator. The backplate further includes at least one connecting assembly with a bar element mobile disposed at the first mounting element and a thermally activatable trigger element. The bar element is movable from a retaining position to a release position. In the retaining position, the bar element retains the second mounting element and, in the release position, releases the second mounting element. When thermally activated, the trigger element releases a movement of the bar element to the release position and/or, the trigger element moves the bar element to the release position.

The pressurization allows the damper to actuate another component, such as a vehicle door (26) that is operably coupled to the damper. A user may shift the damper into the actuation state to actuate the vehicle door open during an emergency, such as when a military vehicle is on its side after an explosion knocks over the vehicle and the vehicle door is too heavy for the user to open without assistance.
