Emodin succinyl ester compound, preparation method therefor and application thereof

Disclosed in the present invention are an emodin succinyl ester compound, a preparation method therefor and a use thereof, the emodin succinyl ester compound having the structure as represented by formula I (R being a C.sub.1-5 alkyl group). The method provided in the present invention has a simple method course, and may effectively save time in synthesis and reduce costs, being simple to operate, being easy to implement, and being suitable for industrial production. Experiments show that the emodin succinyl ester compound of the present invention may better promote the healing of diabetic wounds than emodin, and may be used for preparing a drug for promoting the healing of diabetic wounds. Moreover, it has been confirmed by means of performing pharmacological experiments on rats suffering from experimentally mixed hyperlipidemia that the emodin succinyl ester compound of the present invention is superior to emodin, and has the advantages of having a remarkable blood fat lowering effect, being safe, being simple and convenient to administer, the raw materials being low cost and readily available, and being easy to transport and store.

An isotonic irrigation solution for wounds, surgical incisions and as a lavage, the irrigation solution comprising saline, antimicrobial, chelator, surfactant and collagenous biological enhancer.

Histatin-5 Based Synthetic Peptides and Uses Thereof

Provided herein are synthetic peptides or synthetic fragments thereof based on a Histatin-5 peptide, for example with a sequence DSHAKRHHGYKRKFHEKHHSHRGY (SEQ ID NO: 1). The synthetic peptides or synthetic fragments have at least one substituted amino acid that is arginine and/or leucine to increase resistance to proteolytic degradation by a microbe, such as a fungus. The synthetic peptides or synthetic fragments thereof may be contained in a hydrogel. Also provided are methods for treating or preventing a pathophysiologica condition via topical administration of the synthetic peptide or fragments. The pathophysiological condition may be a fungal or bacterial infection including associated inflammation or a chronic condition.

Flowable formulations for tissue repair and regeneration

A formulation and method are provided for treating wounds by promoting healing and tissue repair and/or regeneration therein. The formulation is a topically administrable selectively flowable colloidal suspension that contains a tropocollagen, at least one adjuvant effective to enhance the capability of the formulation or the tropocollagen to promote tissue repair and regeneration following topical administration to a wound, and a physiologically acceptable carrier or excipient. At least 50% of the tropocollagen is composed of renatured tropocollagen, generally renatured atelopeptide tropocollagen. Methods for using the formulation to heal a wound and effect tissue repair and/or regeneration therein are also provided.

This invention relates to compositions and medical devices comprising anti-microbial active particles, for inhibiting microbial growth. This invention further provides methods of making such compositions and medical devices.

INJECTABLE TISSUE ADHESIVE HYDROGEL INCLUDING GAMMA-CYCLODEXTRIN AND BIOMEDICAL USE THEREOF

Provided are an injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including gamma-cyclodextrin (γ-CD). When such an injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the γ-CD is used as a skin glue, based on a fact that the γ-CD has a bigger hydrophobic cavity than that of α- and β-CDs, the injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the γ-CD has stronger interactions than host-guest interactions. In addition, hydrogen bonding in the injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the γ-CD can improve both cohesiveness and adhesiveness of gelatin. The injectable tissue adhesive hydrogel including the γ-CD having excellent cell viability is used for adhesion of a skin incision, to thereby effectively promote tissue regeneration.

HERNIA REPAIR DEVICE AND METHODS

An improved abdominal hernia repair system is presented comprised of a silicone layer backed up with a knitted or woven polypropylene fabric layer, the silicone layer possessing a regular pattern of slits that permit equilibration of fluid pressure across the device. A variety of therapeutic substances can be applied to the hernia repair device to promote healing, including aloe and other medicinal preparations. A layer of water soluble or water insoluble anti-scar compound is also present, the preferred compound being Salinomycin.

An improved inguinal hernia repair system is presented that is identical to the above except it does not contain the hydrophobic silicone component.
