INTEGRATED DOOR RAILS FOR DOOR CASES

A refrigerated enclosure system includes an enclosure with an interior region defined between a top portion and a bottom portion. A top rail is attached to the top portion and includes an upper hinge mount. A bottom rail is attached to the bottom portion and includes a lower hinge mount. A central axis of the lower hinge mount is positioned relative to a central axis of the upper hinge mount to enable a door secured to the upper hinge mount and the lower hinge mount to open and close relative to an opening of the enclosure. The refrigerated enclosure system also includes a first insulating layer positioned on a back side of the top rail and within the interior region and a second insulating layer positioned on a back side of the bottom rail and within the interior region. The first and second insulating layers inhibit a transfer of heat into the enclosure.

A display case door assembly for a temperature-controlled storage device includes a vacuum panel, a hinge rail, and a lighting element. The evacuated gap provides thermal insulation for the vacuum panel. The hinge rail is coupled to an edge of the vacuum panel and configured to rotate along with the vacuum panel between an open position and a closed position. A door is constructed for a refrigerated cabinet and includes an insulated glass IG unit of rectangular shape and a frame surrounding the unit. The frame is formed of a pair of horizontally disposed aluminum rails and a pair of vertically disposed plastic stiles. Each stile is secured at each end to a respective end of each of the rails by screws. Each rail and stile receives the insulated glass unit in a recessed manner. Full perimeter gasketing of the door is obtained by a vertical gasket on the stile on the hinged side of the door and a pair of horizontal seals on the cabinet opposite the rails of the door.

The display case doors may be suspended from the sliding bearings. The sliding door assembly may include an automatic closure system coupled to the display case doors and configured to apply a closing force that automatically returns the display case doors to the closed position. One or more magnets may apply a magnetic damping force as the display case doors approach the closed position to facilitate a soft closure of the display case doors.
