A method of treating hypoxic tissue such as wound tissue comprises contacting a composition to the hypoxic tissue in a hypoxia-treatment effective amount, the composition comprising a biodegradable polymer and an inorganic peroxide incorporated into the polymer.

Wound spray

The present invention refers to a composition, comprising hemoglobin or myoglobin, wherein in at least 40% of said hemoglobin or myoglobin the oxygen binding site is charged by a non-O.sub.2 ligand, and at least one further ingredient, a method for preparing said composition and the use of hemoglobin or myoglobin charged with a non-oxygen ligand for external treatment of wounds.

ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITIONS AND FORMULATIONS

Compositions for generating antimicrobial activity are described. The compositions comprise: a first phase; a second phase; an enzyme that is able to convert a substrate to release hydrogen peroxide; and a substance that includes a substrate for the enzyme, wherein the first phase and the second phase are immiscible. The compositions may be formulated as emulsions or creams. Methods of making the compositions are described, as well as their use for the treatment of antimicrobial infections.

Described herein are compositions composed of micronized placental components and optionally a sealant, and pharmaceutical compositions thereof. Also described are systems, apparatuses, and methods for applying the combination of micronized placental components and adhesives optionally a sealant (e.g., adhesive or gelation agent) for wound care and other medical applications.

Sprayable polymers as adhesion barriers

A formulation for generating an adhesion barrier that includes a plurality of particles or a dry powder that is made of a polymer combination of at least one biodegradable polymer and at least one water soluble polymer is disclosed. Methods of making and delivering the formulation are further disclosed. The formulation of particles is deposited on a surface of internal body tissue and the deposited formulation absorbs moisture from the tissue and forms a film over the surface. The film acts as an adhesion barrier by reducing or preventing adhesion of the surface to other body tissue.

Sprayable stimuli-responsive micro-hydrogels for adhesion prevention and enhanced tissue healing

Provided are methods, devices and compositions for reducing and/or inhibiting postsurgical tissue adhesion using a hydrogel film disposed onto a target tissue, thereby providing an adhesion barrier that remains over said target tissue for a prescribed period of time. In some embodiments, the hydrogel film is formed by the gelation of a pre-gel mixture applied onto the target tissue as a plurality of particles having an average maximum dimension, such as diameter, of at most about 500 ?m. In some embodiments, the hydrogel film has a minimum storage modulus of 100 Pa. In some embodiments, the pre-gel mixture comprises an ECM digest having a collagen to carbohydrate ratio (by mass) of at least 70:1.

SPRAY-TYPE HYDROGEL

According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method for preparing a hydrogel, comprising: bringing into contact with each other (i) a positively charged composition comprising a positively charged polymer or a derivative thereof, and a first temperature-sensitive polymer; and (ii) a negatively charged composition comprising a negatively charged polymer and a second temperature-sensitive polymer.
