The present invention relates to hydrogels prepared using silylated organic molecules (such as silylated biomolecules), a process for obtaining the same, and uses thereof.

WOUND DRESSING WITH FLUID MANAGEMENT
20210393442 · 2021-12-23 ·

A dressing includes an evaporative film layer having a wound-facing side and a non-wound¬ facing side. The evaporative film layer has a high moisture vapor transfer rate. The dressing includes a carrier film layer coupled to the non-wound-facing side of the evaporative film layer. A plurality of holes extends through the carrier film layer. The dressing includes a superab sorbent layer coupled to the wound-facing side of the evaporative film layer and a wicking layer coupled to the superab sorbent layer. The superab sorbent layer is positioned between the wicking layer and the evaporative film layer. The wicking layer is configured to wick fluid from a wound, the superab sorbent layer is configured to absorb fluid from the wicking layer, and the evaporative film layer and the carrier film layer allow evaporation of fluid from the superabsorbent layer through the holes. The carrier film layer provides structural support to the evaporative film layer.

BUFFERED ADHESIVE COMPOSITIONS FOR SKIN-ADHERING MEDICAL PRODUCTS

Provided are buffered adhesive compositions comprising a high molecular weight non-neutralized polymeric acid and a high molecular weight partially neutralized polymeric acid and products such as wound dressings and ostomy skin barriers incorporating the compositions.

pH-Triggered Therapeutical Wound Dressing
20210379241 · 2021-12-09 ·

The invention relates to a functional wound dressing being able to provide substances supporting the healing of a wound to the wound depending on the condition of the wound. In particular, in case of an infection which is reported to be frequently associated with poorly healing wounds, such as chronic wounds, a therapeutic substance is provided to the wound whereas in other cases no therapeutic substance is provided. The present wound dressing can be used in moist wound healing and contains a substance being able to absorb wound exudate from the wound and to provide moisture to the wound.

pH-Triggered Diagnostic Wound Dressing

The invention relates to a functional wound dressing being able to detect and indicate the state of the wound, in particular with regard to an infection which is reported to be frequently associated with poorly healing wounds, such as chronic wounds. The present wound dressing can be used in moist wound healing and contains a substance being able to absorb wound exudate from the wound and to provide moisture to the wound.

SPRAY-DRIED THROMBIN AND METHODS OF USING AND MAKING SPRAY-DRIED THROMBIN

Spray-dried thrombin materials obtained from feedstock solutions comprising less than 5% by weight albumin and excluding trehalose or other excipients as well as methods of manufacturing the thrombin materials and methods of treating bleeding wounds are disclosed. The methods of use include applying reconstituted spray-dried thrombin topically to a bleeding site, optionally in conjunction with gelatin.

High density fibrous polymers suitable for implant

This invention includes malleable, biodegradable, fibrous compositions for application to a tissue site in order to promote or facilitate new tissue growth. One aspect of this invention is a fibrous component that provides unique mechanical and physical properties. The invention may be created by providing a vessel containing a slurry, said slurry comprising a plurality of natural or synthetic polymer fibers and at least one suspension fluid, wherein the polymer fibers are substantially evenly dispersed and randomly oriented throughout the volume of the suspension fluid; applying a force, e.g., centrifugal, to said vessel containing said slurry, whereupon said force serves to cause said polymer fibers to migrate through the suspension fluid and amass at a furthest extent of the vessel, forming a polymer material, with said polymer material comprising polymer fibers of sufficient length and sufficiently viscous, interlaced, or interlocked to retard dissociation of said polymer fibers.
