Multi-Functional Cleaning and/or Debridement Composition
The present invention relates to a new multifunctional debridement and/or antifouling composition comprising H.sub.2O.sub.2 at a final concentration of between 0.1-5% v/v, and a composite hydrogel formulation comprising pluronic acid at a concentration of 10-40% w/v, wherein the composition is in liquid form at room temperature. The composition disclosed herein is antimicrobial and/or anti-inflammatory and is particular useful in periimplantitis treatment and implant health maintenance, in periodontitis and periodontal health and in wound care and chronic ulcer care.
PROVISION OF BACTERIOPHAGES IN VARIOUS DOSAGE FORMS AND BACTERIOPHAGE APPLICATION DEVICE
The invention relates to bacteriophage means, namely intracorporal bacteriophage means, nasopharyngeal and pulmonary bacteriophage means, cutaneous bacteriophage means, and bacteriophage suture means, and in addition a two-syringe bacteriophage means, a nasopharyngeal and pulmonary bacteriophage means device, and a bacteriophage sensitive testing application.
Spray-dried thrombin and methods of using and making spray-dried thrombin
Spray-dried thrombin materials obtained from feedstock solutions comprising less than 5% by weight albumin and excluding trehalose or other excipients as well as methods of manufacturing the thrombin materials and methods of treating bleeding wounds are disclosed. The methods of use include applying reconstituted spray-dried thrombin topically to a bleeding site, optionally in conjunction with gelatin.
Hydrogel wound dressing and method of preparing the same
Disclosed herein is a hydrogel wound dressing produced by the steps of a) providing an hydrophobic polyol which has six hydroxyl groups, b) providing an hydrophilic diisocyanate obtained by reacting a second diisocyanate with a hydrophilic polyether diol, c) reacting the hydrophobic polyol with the hydrophilic diisocyanate to obtain a first prepolymer which includes 3 to 6 isocyanate groups, d) partially crosslinking the first prepolymer using a crosslinking agent to obtain a second prepolymer, and e) subjecting the second prepolymer to an end-capping reaction with a silane-containing compound to obtain the hydrogel wound dressing.
STABLE THERMOLYSIN HYDROGEL
Disclosed is a hydrogel comprising a hydrophilic gelling agent that includes a nonionic cellulose ether, and active thermolysin, wherein the proteolytic activity of the thermolysin does not decrease by more than 20% when stored at room temperature for 6 months.
Process for producing low endotoxin chitosan
The present invention relates to a process for producing a low endotoxin alkali chitosan, and also to a process for producing low endotoxin neutral chitosan, chitosan salt and chitosan derivatives, and to the products of such processes. The process comprises contacting chitosan with an alkali solution to form a mixture and leaving the mixture for at least about 12 hours. The low endotoxin alkali chitosan may be used in the manufacture of other useful chitosan based products.
Modified collagen, methods of manufacture thereof
The present invention provides a modified collagen comprising S-nitroso groups and a method of manufacture of such a modified collagen. Also provided is a wound dressing comprising such a modified collagen, particularly a wound dressing comprising a formulated composition comprising such a modified collagen.
PARTICLE-FORM HYBRID-SCALE FIBER MATRIX
Particles of non-woven graft materials for use in specialized surgical procedures such as soft tissue repair and wound management procedures, methods for making the powder, and methods for repairing tissue such as neurological tissue using the powder are disclosed. The particles can advantageously be used to fill irregular shaped areas or can be used in conjunction with non-woven graft materials.
WOUND DRESSING COMPRISING A COMBINATION OF HYDROGEL AND HONEY, METHOD OF PREPARATION AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a wound dressing composition comprising cross-linked hydrogel scaffold and embedded therein anti-bacterially active honey, said activity being determined by the detection of hydrogen peroxide production rate by said wound dressing; said wound dressing further comprising at least one of a photo-initiator and/or at least one UV cross linker, the total amount of said photo-initiator and/or UV cross linker is equal or less than 0.2% w/w out of the total weight of the wound dressing. Also disclosed herein is a method of preparing the wound dressing and methods of using the same with respect to wounds, the method of preparation comprises mixing a hydrogel forming mixture comprising hydrogel forming monomer or monomers, honey and at least one photo-initiator and/or at least one UV cross-liker to form a homogenous mixture; and subjecting the homogenous mixture to UV irradiation until said homogenous mixture solidifies.
