REDUNDANT RAIL AND CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY

A redundant rail and carriage assembly is disclosed. The assembly may include a primary sub-assembly including a primary rail and a primary carriage. The assembly may include a secondary sub-assembly including a secondary rail and a secondary carriage, the secondary rail being different than the primary rail, the secondary carriage being different than the secondary carriage. The assembly may be configured to couple to an actuatable door configured to actuate between a stowed door position and a deployed door position via at least one intermediate door position using one of the primary sub-assembly or the secondary sub-assembly, the secondary sub-assembly being configured to actuate the actuatable door via the secondary rail and the secondary carriage if one of the primary rail or the primary carriage of the primary sub-assembly fails.

Aircraft emergency door and method of operating the same

There is disclosed an emergency door positionable in an exit opening of an aircraft. The door has door supports mountable to the lower wall and each having a pivot point. A first pivot axis is defined between the pivot points. A block is mountable to the lower wall and is offset from a center of the lower wall. A door body is mountable within the opening to the door supporting structure and pivotally mountable to the door supports. The door body is pivotable about the first pivot axis from an initial position in which the door body is within the opening, until the door body is disengaged from the door supports. A bottom portion of the door body abuts against the block to define a removal pivot point. The door body is pivotable about the removal pivot point to remove the door body from the exit opening.

AN AIRCRAFT PASSENGER ACCOMMODATION UNIT

A door arrangement for an aircraft comprising a door designed to close an aperture in an outer skin of the aircraft, and a articulated arm which is fixed by a first end to the door and which is designed to move the door in at least two translational directions and at least two rotational directions. An aircraft area with this door arrangement and an aircraft having such an aircraft area are furthermore provided. The aircraft area comprises a door aperture arranged in an outer skin of an aircraft, and a door arrangement. Here the door of the door arrangement may be designed to close the door aperture from an inside of the outer skin, and the articulated arm of the door arrangement may be fixed to the aircraft area.

Aircraft with rotatably coupled fuselage end cargo door

An aircraft including a fuselage, an aircraft fuselage end cargo door, and a fuselage end cargo door mechanism. The aircraft fuselage end cargo door couples to the fuselage at a major joint line. The fuselage end cargo door mechanism including a hinge rotatably coupling an aircraft fuselage end cargo door to a fuselage, the hinge being coupled to both the aircraft fuselage end cargo door and the fuselage so that an axis of rotation of the aircraft fuselage end cargo door, defined by the hinge, relative to the fuselage is located forward of a major joint line between the aircraft fuselage end cargo door and the fuselage, wherein an uppermost portion of the major joint line comprises a joint line radius where a portion of the joint line radius formed by the aircraft fuselage end cargo door pivots within another portion of the joint line radius formed by the fuselage.

Door translation hinge assembly

An aircraft door translation hinge assembly connects a passenger door of an aircraft to the aircraft fuselage structure and enables the passenger door to move through a desired opening motion. The opening motion of the passenger door is controlled by a simplified mechanism that utilizes a pair of linkages connected by a cam surface follower that engages in sliding engagement with a cam surface. The simplified mechanism controls a pivoting movement of the passenger door as the passenger door is first opened, and then controls a translation movement of the passenger door as the passenger door is continued to be opened from a passenger door opening in the aircraft fuselage.
