Window Assembly
Window assemblies and methods for their construction are disclosed. In one aspect, the disclosed window assemblies include wooden side jambs connected to a non-wooden sill assembly via intermediately positioned end caps. In some examples, each end cap includes a main body and a step defined within the main body for supporting an end of the sill assembly, wherein the step extends at an oblique angle to a length of the side jamb associated with the end cap. The provision of an angled or obliquely oriented shelf eliminates the need to mill a similarly shaped structure within the wooden side jambs.
THERMAL FRAME
The invention features a refrigerator cabinet door frame. The frame includes a thermally conductive outer frame, a thermally insulating inner frame member, and a sealing plate. The outer frame member includes a forward end having an outer surface that is disposed outside of a refrigerated cabinet with the frame mounted, and a rearward end defining a joint. The inner frame member includes a first end retained in the joint, and a second end. The sealing plate includes a first edge coupled to the outer frame member at the rearward end, forward of the joint, a second edge supported by the second end of the inner frame member, and a thermally conductive sealing surface. The first edge of the sealing plate is coupled to the outer frame member such that the sealing surface and the outer surface of the outer frame member together form a continuous heat transfer path.
Building systems and methods for installing building systems relative to building openings
Building systems including a frame with a horizontal member from which first and second vertical bars downwardly extend and a panel attached to the frame. The building systems include at least one of an integrated fastener cover that is moveable to a closed position that covers a portion of a fastener, a gusset assembly with a junction cover positioned at a corner junction between two adjacent portions of a panel, and hinge assemblies that reduce the sagging of a panel, such as a door.

UNIVERSAL STRUT FOR DOORS AND WINDOW ELEMENTS, APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND A METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates generally to a universal strut for doors and window elements. More particularly, the invention encompasses a universal strut that mates with a first formed member, and a second formed member, and which assembly is used as windows, doors, window frames, and door frames. The invention also provides a method of using the inventive universal strut for applications that require different widths and lengths for a production or customized window, door, window frame, or door frame. The universal strut can also be used as a thermal barrier between the first formed member, and the second formed member. Preferably, the universal strut is made from a non-metallic or thermal barrier material, while the first formed substrate, and the second formed substrate are preferably made from a metallic material. The universal strut allows for the formation of various configurations for the shapes of window and/or door elements.
CLOSURE FIRE RATED FRAME EXTRUSION COMPONENT AND A METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
An extrusion component of a closure frame for defining an opening which is closable by a closure member and a method of making the same. The extrusion component comprises an elongate body having first and second sides, at least one of which is shaped for accommodating said closure member. The elongate body includes an outer layer integrally formed with an inner layer and the inner layer has an outer surface correspondingly shaped by or with an inner surface of the outer layer.

COMPOSITE MOLDED SHELL WITH STIFFENING INNER CORE FOR INTERIOR TRIM MOLDING APPLICATIONS
A composite trim molding assembly includes a composite outer shell having at least one pressed or molded surface feature and a core disposed within the composite outer shell for at least one of strengthening or stiffening the outer shell. The composite trim molding assembly can be configured as a door jamb. For example, the composite outer shell can include a flat jamb, and the at least one pressed or molded surface feature can include a stop. The core can include a protrusion into a cavity formed by the stop. The cavity formed by the stop may also be hollow. The composite outer shell can be molded from a slurry and/or pressed from a flat composite panel. The at least one pressed or molded surface feature can include a surface texture (e.g., a wood grain pattern). The core can include segments fastened together, particle board, and/or fiberboard.
