Door assembly
A door assembly and a frame member for a door assembly. The door assembly may include at least one door panel and a door frame having a plurality of frame members including a header and a pair of side jambs. The invention may also be considered a frame member including a storage compartment. The frame member may include a core; and a top piece adjoining the core to form a structural member. The core and the top piece may be a composite of cellulosic material and at least one other material. The top piece may be a two-piece top piece and may include hollow cavities. Also disclosed are door jamb frame members and mullion frame members.
Composite molded shell with stiffening inner core for interior trim molding applications
A composite trim molding assembly includes a composite outer shell having at least one pressed or molded surface feature and a core disposed within the composite outer shell for at least one of strengthening or stiffening the outer shell. The composite trim molding assembly can be configured as a door jamb. For example, the composite outer shell can include a flat jamb, and the at least one pressed or molded surface feature can include a stop. The core can include a protrusion into a cavity formed by the stop. The cavity formed by the stop may also be hollow. The composite outer shell can be molded from a slurry and/or pressed from a flat composite panel. The at least one pressed or molded surface feature can include a surface texture (e.g., a wood grain pattern). The core can include segments fastened together, particle board, and/or fiberboard.
POWER POCKET SLIDING DOOR
A system for managing opening and closing a pocket door includes a spindle, an actuator, and brackets. The spindle extends along a longitudinal axis between first and second ends, and is configured to be coupled to the pocket door. The actuator is coupled to the spindle and is configured to cause the spindle to move axially along the longitudinal axis. The brackets are connected to the spindle at each end and are constrained from longitudinal motion relative to the spindle. The brackets are configured to affix the spindle to the pocket door. A bushing system couples each bracket to the spindle and is configured to dampen impact between the spindle and the brackets. For example, the bushing system may include lobed elements, made of a rubber material, that engage each other to transmit azimuthal forces. In some embodiments, another actuator is included to improve cycle like and redundancy.

TRIM STRUCTURE FOR A DOOR
A trim structure intended on one hand to receive a door, in particular an internal door, and on the other hand to be joined to a partition. The structure includes two lateral wails facing one another and spaced apart by a thickness. The thickness being adjusted with respect to the thickness of the partition such the lateral walls form an external surface that is flush with the external surface of the partition. when the structure is joined to the partition. A transverse end wall connects the two lateral walls. The transverse end wall includes a planar surface that is configured to butt up against the thickness of a vertical edge face of the door and a projecting element (15) forming a bearing surface for the door. The walls being formed from at least one composite panel, the panel comprising a central layer sandwiched between two facing layers.
