Universal window banding clip system
A system for improving the alignment of building product frame members. The system includes a first and second clip member each with an arcuate edge releasably positioned into a channel within the opposed frame members. A longitudinally extending banding strap looped through openings in both first and second clip member. The first end of the longitudinally extending banding strap is inserted into a banding strap tensioning apparatus and tension is applied to the first end as well as to a longitudinally disposed segment of the banding strap that is also inserted into the banding strap tensioning apparatus. Once the specified span is achieved, the overlapping first end and longitudinally disposed segment are bonded together using the banding member tensioning apparatus thereby preventing movement of the first and second frame members away from one another. Sealant is applied to the frame members and the banding strap clip members are removed.
Shim stacks and methods
Angled shim stacks and methods of using the same, which can be used to support to a fenestration unit at those locations where the support is needed by providing a load bearing surface that matches the angle of the fenestration unit sill bottom regardless of the angle of the upper surface of the sill on which the fenestration unit is supported.
Compound fenestration assembly mull joints and methods
Compound fenestration assembly mull joints, compound fenestration assemblies using those mull joints, and methods of making and using the same are described herein. The mull joints in compound fenestration assemblies as described herein use universal joining strips to form both sides of a mull joint, as well as other universal components such as, e.g., corner gussets, locator plates, end plugs, seal members, etc. that may be used as needed to form mull joints as required in a compound fenestration assembly.
Customizable window system for coastal weather protection
A window system for use in windows, sliding glass doors, skylights, casement windows and other openings in a building. The window system enables different windows of the same building to be individually customized for different impacts of coastal area weather and security concerns and also have the same external appearance despite employing various window protection steps. Panels, interior or exterior, are secured to the header and sill. Windows may be covered with exterior panels or include interior panels or impact resistant glass when the window is high on the building, or where security is a concern Windows including casement windows and other building penetrations may also accommodate interior panels, in combination with exterior protection. The window framing may have a uniform exterior appearance, notwithstanding different levels of protection.
Tower segment and manufacturing method
A tower segment, in particular for a tower of a wind turbine, a wind turbine, and a method for manufacturing a tower segment is provided. A tower segment, in particular for a tower of a wind turbine, comprising a casing segment with an inner casing surface, an outer casing surface and a cutout for a door, wherein the inner casing surface has a first inner reinforcing portion and/or the outer casing surface has an outer reinforcing portion, wherein the inner reinforcing portion and/or the outer reinforcing portion adjoin the cutout, and the inner reinforcing portion has an inner reinforcing plate and/or the outer reinforcing portion has an outer reinforcing plate.
CUSTOMIZABLE WINDOW AND DOOR SYSTEM FOR SEVERE WEATHER PROTECTION
A customizable storm protection system for protection and aesthetics comprises a first jamb, a second jamb, a header, and a sill, each with a glazing recess, and each with a receptacle for inserting a screw boss that runs a length of each of the first jamb, the second jamb, the header, and the sill, wherein joined define a frame for the opening in a building. A customizable storm protection system may further comprise glazing received by the glazing recess of each of the first jamb, the second jamb, the header, and the sill. A customizable storm protection system may further comprise a storm track configured to the frame to, wherein the storm track identifies fastener locations for the screw boss within the frame, and wherein the storm track comprises a cap, a stanchion, and an attachment layer for attachment to the frame. The system enables different openings in a building to be individually customized for different types of storm protection while maintaining a uniform exterior appearance.
Jamb-hung secondary door and method of installation
A method of installing a combination door unit into a threshold of a house, comprising placing a combination door unit within a threshold opening of a house surrounded by a plurality of house frame studs. The combination door unit comprises a door frame, a threshold door hingedly coupled to the door frame, and a secondary door. The secondary door is hingedly coupled to a mounting frame and the mounting frame, the door frame, and the plurality of house frame studs are aligned when the combination door unit is placed within the threshold opening. The method of installing the combination door unit may also comprise the steps of leveling the combination door unit, removing the secondary door from the combination door unit, driving a plurality of fasteners through the mounting frame, through the door frame, and into the house frame studs, and replacing the secondary door on the combination door unit.
Mounting assembly
An adjustable mounting assembly includes a wall channel; an adjustment channel fitting within the wall channel; and a connection means arranged to adjustably connect the adjustment channel to the wall channel. The connection means includes a fixing block, with a first aperture therethrough, arranged to fit within the wall channel and between the wall and adjustment channels, the first aperture arranged to receive a wall fixing member arranged to pass through the base of the wall channel so as to secure the fixing block to the wall channel; and an adjustable fixing member arranged to secure the adjustment channel to the fixing block, a head of the adjustable fixing member being within the adjustment channel in use; wherein movement of the adjustable fixing member is arranged to allow movement of the adjustment channel, and the adjustment channel is arranged to receive a profile strip to cover the adjustable fixing member.
