EDGE PIECE AND WINDOW-EDGE PIECE COMPOSITE
The invention relates to an edge piece for a connection impermeable to driving rain in the region of window sill, window and facade. The edge piece has coupling elements which form a positive connection with complementary coupling elements of a window frame.
CONTINUOUS LOCKING HINGE ASSEMBLIES AND FOLDING DOOR ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING THE SAME
A threshold assembly has an interior side, an exterior side opposite the interior side, a top side, and a bottom side opposite the top side and includes a substrate and a sill deck. The sill deck is attached to the substrate and includes a deck cover and a sill track. The deck cover may be positioned over a portion of the substrate. The deck cover extends towards the exterior side of the threshold assembly. The sill track has an attachment wall, an exterior wall, and a bottom wall, the attachment wall is positioned on an exterior side of the substrate. The exterior wall is positioned on an exterior side of the attachment wall and defines the exterior side of the threshold assembly. The attachment wall and the exterior wall define a channel therebetween with the channel being open upward and closed on the bottom by the bottom wall.
DOOR ENTRYWAY SYSTEM
A threshold includes a substantially vertically upstanding nosing extending along a longitudinal axis of the threshold and a substantially vertically upstanding dam spaced from and substantially parallel to the upstanding nosing. A threshold cap is disposed at least partially across a gap between the upstanding nosing and the upstanding dam. A support, which supports the threshold cap, is located at least partially within the gap. The threshold cap is adjustable between at least a raised position and a lowered position. The threshold cap is biased toward the raised position when the door panel of the entryway is in an open position. The threshold cap pivots about a pivot axis parallel with the longitudinal axis. The pivot axis is not a central axis of the threshold cap.
Inserts for hollow structural members
A pre-formed insert with stable dimensions for mechanical insertion into a hollow member and that reduces the Nusselt number and convection across the hollow member. The insert may be formed of a low heat conducting material like PVC and have extensions and internal voids that impede convection in the hollow and conduction through the insert. The inserts may be used in heads and sills of aluminum windows, doors and frames. In one embodiment, an insert is received in an open hollow and may cooperate with an insert in a frame hollow to decrease convection at the head end of a sliding window or door. An insert may be placed within the hollow of a window or door beside a roller assembly.
Door assembly
A door assembly with improved sealing between the door and door frame. The door assembly may include a door frame having a first side section and a sill section, a door including a first edge surface and a second edge surface and a hinge having a first portion connected to the first side section and a second portion connected to the first edge surface to pivotably connect the door to the door frame such that the door is pivotable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the hinge moves the second edge surface vertically downward toward the sill section only during the last 50 degrees of pivotal movement of the door from the open position to the closed position.
WATER DRAINING SPANDREL ASSEMBLY AND INSULATED PANEL WINDOW WALLS
A window wall assembly including an insulated panel having at least one hole; at least one spacer located between and abutting a first portion of an outside of the insulated panel and an inside of an architectural fascia panel; at least one layer of nonconducting material connected to the at least one spacer and sandwiched between a second portion of the outside of the insulated panel and the inside of the architectural fascia panel; and a first fastener having a hollow inner section inserted into the at least one hole which has threading on the inside, an outer section having threading on the outside and extending into the layer of nonconducting material; and a flange located between the inner section and outer section of the first fastener and having a greater lateral dimension than the radius of the at least one hole.
Door entryway system
A door entryway system is disclosed. The door entryway system may have a door sweep capable of attachment to a bottom of a door panel and a threshold assembly. The threshold assembly may include a threshold substrate, an upwardly open sill channel on the substrate and a substantially rigid threshold cap biased upwardly, and vertically adjustable by rotating during interaction with the door sweep. The threshold cap and door sweep contact to form a sealing barrier when the door panel is in a closed position. The threshold assembly may also include a cap base formed separate from the threshold cap, the cap base at least partially positioned within the sill channel, the cap base supporting the threshold cap.
DOOR SWEEP
A door sweep comprises an elongated U-shaped body formed by a base and a pair of upright walls, the U-shaped body configured for being mounted to a bottom portion of a door. The elongated U-shaped body may float relative to the bottom portion of the door when installed. Biasing member(s) in the elongated U-shaped body may bias the downwardly base away from the bottom portion of the door. A fastener cover may be connected to one of the upright walls, with a hinge formed at a junction between the fastener cover and U-shaped body, for hinging the fastener cover. Hinges may be formed at a junction between the base and each of the upright walls, for hinging the upright walls.
High Performance Fenestration System
A high-performance fenestration system that includes a pressure chamber formed between longitudinally adjacent fenestration members. The pressure chamber is positioned on one side of the thermal break. The fenestration system can be configured so to create a continuous pressure chamber around the closed perimeter of the fenestration between the frame and sash. The resulting fenestration system enjoys significantly better water penetration resistance as compared with conventional high-performance doors and windows. Because of the positioning and structural configuration of the pressure chamber, the fenestration system can be configured to accept different hinge styles including Euro-style and American-style hinges without significant loss of performance. In addition, the system can accept American-style door hardware or Euro-style door hardware.
ARCHITECTURAL TERRACE DOOR
The threshold system includes a first support member secured to a walking surface, a second support member secured to the walking surface, and a thermal break joining the first support member and the second support member. A first ramp is removably coupled to the first support member. A second ramp is removably coupled to the second support member.
