Provided is a frameless window assembly made from a sheet with resilient edge(s).

COLD-FORMED GLASS ARTICLE AND ASSEMBLY PROCESS THEREOF

Embodiments of an article comprising a cold-formed glass substrate in a curved shape, a plurality of separate mechanical retainers, and a frame are disclosed. The cold-formed glass substrate has a first major surface, and a second major surface opposing the first major surface. In one more embodiments, the plurality of separate mechanical retainers are attached to the second major surface of the cold-formed glass substrate. The mechanical retainers may be attached to the frame to define a position for each of the plurality of mechanical retainers, such that the mechanical retainers define the curved shape. Embodiments of processes to form such articles are also provided. Such processes can include attaching a plurality of separate mechanical retainers to a flexible glass substrate such that the glass substrate maintains its flexibility, and attaching the mechanical retainers to a frame, such that the mechanical retainers attached to the frame define a cold-formed curved shape for the flexible glass substrate.

A glazing shield system for retrofitting glazing systems of buildings is disclosed. The glazing shield system includes a support frame and a unitized panel. In certain embodiments, the glazing shield system may be mounted on an existing glazing system in a non-intrusive and non-destructive method. In one embodiment, the support frame may be attached to an infill panel of an existing glazing system using structural adhesives, and the unitized panel may be mounted on the support frame, creating an insulating glazing shield.

DOOR WITH FRAMELESS GLAZED UNIT, AND RELATED KIT AND METHODS

A door includes a door frame, first and second door skins having rectangular outer peripheries and inner openings, and a frameless glazed unit received at the openings. The door skins include exterior surfaces facing away from the door frame and opposite interior surfaces facing and secured to opposite sides of the door frame. The exterior and interior surfaces of the first and second door skins establish integral lips and grooves of the first and second door skins. Opposite sides of the frameless glazed unit directly contact and are sealed by the integral lips and sealant and/or adhesive contained in the grooves of the first and second door skins.

A method for repairing or upgrading of existing insulated glass units already installed into a window framing or curtain wall system is provided. The method includes removing an inside glass stop from a window framing housing the insulated glass unit to provide access to an inner glass panel and detaching the inner glass panel from an outer glass panel via a breaking or altering of the separator, with the outer glass panel being retained in place within the window framing. The method also includes applying a new separator to the inner glass panel and/or the outer glass panel, reaffixing the inner glass panel to the outer glass panel while maintaining a space between the inner glass panel and the outer glass panel to form a hermetically sealed cavity therebetween, and reinstalling the inside glass stop back onto the window framing, to secure the inner glass panel in place.

Infill electrochromic windows

Various embodiments herein relate to methods, structures, tools, installation systems, etc. for retrofitting a new electrochromic window in a pre-existing window recess. In many cases, the new electrochromic window is installed parallel to a lite of a pre-existing window, with the resulting structure including the new electrochromic window, the pre-existing window, and a pocket that forms between them. Installation of a new electrochromic window in tandem with a pre-existing window results in many benefits including improved insulation (e.g., due to the presence of the additional air pocket(s) and lite(s)), improved climate control (e.g., due to the ability to control the amount of sunlight entering the building via the electrochromic window), and enhanced aesthetics.
