A BEAD FOR A FRAME MEMBER
20210207426 · 2021-07-08 ·

A bead for releasably securing a glazing unit to a frame member, comprising a body having a first end and a second end, and a resiliently deformable member secured to the body and having a first finger extending from the body to a first end, and a second finger extending from the first finger to a second end. The first end of the body and the first end of the first finger are configured to engage with respective first and second ends of a frame member so as to secure the bead to the frame member. The second end of the body is configured to releasably secure a gasket in a first position so as to secure a glazing unit against an opposed end of the frame member. In use, application of an external force to the gasket moves the gasket to a second position and deflects the second finger from a first position to a second position, and the first finger is configured to separate from the second end of the frame member upon deflection of the second finger to the second position, so as to release the bead from the frame member.

In one aspect, the present invention relates to a structural assembly including a first frame member hingedly coupled to a second frame member. A support member extends outwardly from the first frame member. At least one glazing panel is disposed above the support member. A thermal clip is coupled to the support member. The thermal clip insulates the support member from a building exterior. The support member extends less than an entire length thereof and reduces loss of thermal energy from a building interior to the building exterior via the support member.

A fenestration assembly includes a frame assembly, and a sash assembly. The frame assembly includes at least one each unitary frame member formed from a first sheet of material. The sash assembly including at least one unitary member being formed from a second single sheet of material.

IMPROVED METHOD FOR ADHERING GLASS TO METAL MOUNTING BRACKETS

A method for mounting a metal substrate to a first substrate comprises a metal substrate having a plurality of through holes in at least a portion of the metal substrate and the application of a one part moisture curing adhesive on the adherend first surface, adherend metal surface or both. The first substrate and metal substrate are contacted interposing the adhesive between the adherend first surface and the adherend metal surface such that a portion of the length of at least one through hole is penetrated by the adhesive. The adhesive is cured in the presence of moisture.

ROTARY FASTENER FOR SECURING A FENESTRATION PANEL
20200200202 · 2020-06-25 ·

A fastener system for securing a panel to a frame comprises one or more rotating fasteners installed in the perimeter edge of the panel. In operation, one or more cam surfaces of the fastener engage receiving surfaces of a receiver on the frame such that, upon rotation of each fastener, the panel is drawn toward the frame. In some embodiments, the panel is moved in a first direction parallel to the panel and a second direction perpendicular to the panel or in a composite diagonal direction inclined relative to the panel. The fastener system may facilitate compression of seals disposed along the perimeter edge of the panel and between a side of the panel and rabbet ledge of the frame and may further facilitate removal and maintenance of the panel.

Combination pressure plate

A glazing system for holding glazing units to a frame member has an aluminum pressure plate and a composite plate co-extruded from a plurality of polymers and having a pair of gaskets and a central isolator. A pair of polymer extrusions extend from the isolator and have ledges at the end that embrace and seal against the metal plate. The metal and composite plates are coupled together by a pair of ribs extending from the composite plate into a pair of slots in the metal plate.

FENESTRATION ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING COMPOSITE FRAME CORES AND METHODS FOR SAME

A fenestration assembly includes a glazing unit includes a pane spacer between exterior and interior panes proximate glazing unit edges. A fenestration frame is coupled around the glazing unit and includes a frame core extending around the glazing unit. The frame core includes a unitary core wall including a composite material that is hollow and extends continuously from a core interior face to a core exterior face. A metal glazing cap is coupled with the frame core. The metal glazing cap having a cap end indirectly engaged with the glazing unit along the interior pane, and the cap end is remote from the pane spacer.
