Seals for electrochromic windows
Embodiments herein relate to methods and apparatus for preventing and mitigating the ingress of moisture into an interior region of an IGU. Various techniques are disclosed including, for example, the use of a strain relief structure around wires passing through a secondary seal, improved materials for coating the wires, and additional/improved layers for bonding the secondary seal to tape provided around a spacer.
Privacy glazing system with discrete electrical driver
A controllable privacy structure, such as a window or door, may include an electrically controllable optically active material connected to a driver. The driver can control the application and/or removal of electrical energy to the optically active material to transition from a scattering state in which visibility through the structure is inhibited to a transparent state in which visibility through the structure is comparatively clear. The driver may need to be located in relatively close physical proximity to the privacy structure the driver is intended to control. Devices, systems, and techniques are described for discretely positioning a driver relative to a privacy structure to be controlled.
Insulating panel assembly
An insulating panel assembly includes an exterior panel that is formed of a metal. The insulating panel assembly also includes an interior panel. A spacer is coupled to the exterior panel and the interior panel. The spacer maintains the exterior panel in a generally parallel, spaced relationship with the interior panel.
INSULATED GLASS UNIT WITH INFRARED REFLECTING PIGMENTATION IN THE MASK
The invention relates to a roof or skylight window comprising a frame and an insulated glazing unit, where the insulated glazing unit comprises a first glass pane (10) and a second glass pane (20) each having inner surfaces (11, 21) opposing each other, and a side seal (4) arranged between the first glass pane (10) and the second glass pane (20) creating a sealed cavity (40) between the glass panes (10, 20). The first glass pane (10) comprises an edge surface region (14) overlapping the side seal (4) along at least a first part of the side seal (4), wherein the edge surface region (14) comprises an enamel layer (16) comprising pigments reflecting near infrared light.
Covering element for bus bar
A spacer for an insulating glazing, includes a main body, which is a main body A including a first pane contact surface, a second pane contact surface, a glazing interior surface, and an outer surface, or which is a main body B including a first pane contact surface, a second pane contact surface, a first glazing interior surface, a second glazing interior surface, a first inner lateral surface, a second inner lateral surface, and an outer surface, wherein the two inner lateral surfaces, together with the two glazing interior surfaces and the outer surface, form a groove for receiving a pane. The spacer has a screen panel made of an opaque material arranged on the glazing interior surface of the main body A or a screen panel arranged on one of the two glazing interior surfaces of the main body B and extending parallel to the two pane contact surfaces.
A ROOF WINDOW WITH AN ACOUSTIC LAMINATED VACUUM INSULATED GLASS UNIT
The invention relates to a roof window comprising a frame and a laminated vacuum insulated glass (laminated VIG) unit fixed in said frame, the laminated VIG unit comprising: a first glass sheet and a second glass sheet, wherein the first and second glass sheets are separated by an evacuated gap, and wherein a plurality of support structures are distributed inside the evacuated gap between the first and second glass sheets, a lamination layer arranged between the first glass sheet and a further sheet, said lamination layer is bonding to an outer major surface of the first glass sheet facing the evacuated gap, wherein the lamination layer comprises at least a first layer and a second layer of a polymer material, wherein, when the roof window is exposed to impacts; the fluctuation in decibel (dB) over a range of 1000 Hz in the interval from 20 Hz to 13000 Hz will not exceed 10 dB.
FIRE RESISTANT VACUUM INSULATING GLAZING
A fire resistant vacuum insulating glazing assembly with at least one vacuum insulating glazing unit having first and second glass panes; a set of discrete pillars between the glass panes; a hermetically bonding seal sealing the distance between the glass panes; an internal volume defined by the glass panes and closed by the hermetically bonding seal, wherein there is a vacuum of absolute pressure of less than 0.1 mbar. The inner pane faces face the internal volume, and the glazing assembly further includes at least one intumescent unit having a layer of intumescent material, an intumescent unit glass pane, and an intumescent unit peripheral spacer. The intumescent unit glass pane and the intumescent unit peripheral spacer define an intumescent unit volume, and the layer of intumescent material and the intumescent unit peripheral spacer face one of the outer pane faces of the first or second glass panes.
SLIM DOUBLE-SKIN STRUCTURE
A slim double-skin structure according to one aspect of the present invention may comprise: a window frame, an outer window sash frame provided on an outdoor side and coupled to the window frame, an outer glass provided on the outer window sash frame, an inner window sash frame provided on an indoor side and coupled to the window frame, an inner glass provided on the inner window sash frame, an awning film provided in a hollow layer formed between the outer glass and the inner glass to serve as a shading, and a case-type glass fixing frame which is provided in the outer window sash frame so as to be located in the hollow layer and fixes the outer glass to the outer window sash frame concurrently with building-in and guiding the awning film.
Smart window, smart window system, method of operating smart window, and method of fabricating smart window
A smart window configured to transition between a substantially transparent state and a dimmed state. The smart window includes a first substantially transparent conductive layer; an ion storage layer on the first substantially transparent conductive layer; an electrolyte layer on a side of the ion storage layer away from the first substantially transparent conductive layer; an electrochromic layer on a side of the electrolyte layer away from the ion storage layer; a second substantially transparent conductive layer on a side of the electrochromic layer away from the electrolyte layer; and an antenna layer configured to receive wireless power transmissions to provide energy for the smart window to transition between the substantially transparent state and the dimmed state.
