An exit device has an overall height when a panic bar of the exit device is in its extended position. The exit device is configured to be received, at least in part, within a recess defined within a body of the door so that the height at which the extended panic bar protrudes beyond an outer surface of the door is reduced.

A security door system includes a door frame, a door, and an astragal. The door frame has first and second vertically extending side members that define an opening therebetween. The door is disposed within the opening and is secured to the frame via a hinged connection along the first vertically extending side member. A gap is defined between an edge of the door, that is opposite the hinged connection, and the second vertically extending side member when the door is in a closed position. The astragal has first and second plates that are secured to an outer surface of the door. The first plate extends beyond the edge such that the first plate covers the gap when the door is in the closed position. The second plate extends from the first plate in a direction away from the edge and toward the hinged connection.

An apparatus and method for forming new and novel portions of a garage door panel. This includes forming at least one decoration into a steel plate section and bonding to it a unique foam core where a mirror image decoration is routed into the foam core to exactly match the decoration. In addition, an aluminum diamond plate sheet with a front surface and a rear surface is bonded to the rear of the foam core. The aluminum diamond plate sheet also includes a sheet of steel affixed to its rear surface which rear surface is bonded to the foam core so that magnetic decorations can be attached to the front of the aluminum diamond plate sheet.

An astragal is described having a housing and a weather-strip extending along a length of the housing. An end cap is mounted to the housing. The end cap has a bottom wall positioned substantially horizontally along the bottom end of the housing. The bottom wall has an interior edge, an exterior edge opposite the interior edge, an upper surface, and a lower surface opposite the upper surface. At least one projection extends upwardly from the upper surface at a location along the upper surface closer to the interior edge than the exterior edge. The projection sized and positioned to project into the weather-strip and at least partially seal with a cavity opening at a lower end of the weather-strip.

A reinforcing assembly may be configured for use in conjunction with a door latch mechanism. The reinforcing assembly is configured to reside within a recess or mortise defined within a body of the door. A body of said door latch mechanism is configured to be received, at least in part, within said reinforcing assembly. The reinforcing assembly includes a body having a back plate and one or more walls thereby defining a latch receiving cavity. At least one fastener is configured to secure the reinforcing assembly to the body of the door. The at least one fastener may be oriented substantially normal to the transverse plane of the door when securing the reinforcing assembly within the body of the door.

The present disclosure describes various embodiments of a concealed or hidden door closer that is installed in a rail of a door assembly. In some embodiments, the door frame and door closer components are configured to allow the door assembly to be readily installed as either a left or a right hand hinged door.

A lighted door system includes a door having a frame defining a hinge side, an opposite distal side, a top, and a bottom. At least one lighting device is coupled to the door frame. The at least one lighting device includes a housing and a flange extending from the housing. A window, door, or facade element includes an outer frame composed of out frame bars and a leaf frame composed of leaf frame bars. One or more of the outer frame bars and/or of the leaf frame bars has/have at least the following features: a base profile, on which two fastening grooves that are open in the same direction are formed for fixing a corresponding fastener of a fitting arrangement, which bridges the intermediate space between the fastening grooves. The two fastening grooves have at least one latch for at least one counterpart latch, which can be attached without tools, of a fitting part arrangement. The fitting arrangement has a functional fitting on a fitting plate and at least one support element for supporting the fitting. The support element is designed for direct or indirect latching in the fastening grooves by means of the counterpart latch.

A door panel comprising a body having front and rear door skins sandwiching, at least partially, two stiles, which together delimit an interior for injection of filling material. At least one of the stiles comprises a hollow structure with a partitioned hollow interior that extends along substantially the entire length of the body to offer mechanical strength to the door and to provide foundation for installing door fittings.
