CLOSURE FIRE RATED FRAME EXTRUSION COMPONENT AND A METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
20190242179 · 2019-08-08 ·

An extrusion component of a closure frame for defining an opening which is closable by a closure member and a method of making the same. The extrusion component comprises an elongate body having first and second sides, at least one of which is shaped for accommodating said closure member. The elongate body includes an outer layer integrally formed with an inner layer and the inner layer has an outer surface correspondingly shaped by or with an inner surface of the outer layer.

Seal for an overhead door
12012803 · 2024-06-18 · ·

A seal for an overhead door includes a first sidewall, and a second sidewall that extends from the first sidewall. The first and second sidewalls extend beyond a bottom corner of the overhead door to cover an opening formed by compression of an astragal attached to a bottom surface of the overhead door.

FENESTRATION TRIM ASSEMBLY

A corner key for a fenestration trim assembly includes a sloped bearing surface configured to bias a first lineal toward a second lineal about the longitudinal axis of the second lineal.

ENTRYWAY SEALING SPACER
20180305975 · 2018-10-25 · ·

A gasket for an entryway is described that includes a compliant sealing portion having an uncompressed gasket thickness and a less compliant compression control portion having opposing exposed surfaces. A perimeter of the less compliant compression control portion is surrounded by the compliant sealing portion. A thickness of the less compliant compression control portion is less than the uncompressed gasket thickness.

Configurable door system with plural panels

A configurable door system includes a first and second door panel, an astragal, and a frame. The frame defines a first axis and is configured to pivotally support the door panels in a first configuration of the door system and in a second configuration of the door system. The first door panel is disposed to one side of the second door panel along the first axis within the frame in both the first and second configurations. The door system, in the first configuration, includes the astragal fixed to the first door panel and releasably attaches the first door panel to the frame, and the second door panel is releasably secured to the astragal. The door system, in the second configuration, includes the astragal fixed to the second door panel and releasably attaches the second door panel to the frame, and the first door panel is releasably secured to the astragal.

One-piece sill pan flashing

A one-piece sill pan flashing is provided with one or more accordion sections. At least the accordion sections, and preferably the entire flashings, are formed of a single sheet of thermoplastic material, preferably by thermoforming, and include forwardly and downwardly inclined upper portions and vertical lower portions extending downward from the front of the upper portions. The accordion sections include upper and lower portions, formed of narrow panels, foldably connected along their lateral edges to form V-shaped accordion folds having a series of ridge folds and valley folds. The valley folds of the upper portions are aligned with the ridge folds of the lower portions and vice versa. The construction accommodates substantial extension or compression of the width of the flashing and enables one size of flashing width to be fitted to a wide range of sizes of rough-framed window openings.

Expandable, one-piece sill pan flashing

A sill pan flashing is provided with a width-extendable accordion section enabling the flashing to be manufactured, shipped and installed in one piece regardless of significant variations in the actual width of a framing sill from a designed nominal width. The flashing includes opposite side end caps connected by a horizontal sill cover. The sill cover includes one or more accordion sections configured with a plurality of integrally formed accordion elements which may be of V-shape, U-shape, sinusoidal or other configuration, allowing the one-piece flashing to be elongated in the width direction during installation, in order to completely cover a sill member. The new flashing is manufactured in one piece for a minimum sill width and expanded as necessary during installation at the job site to fully cover the entire surface of a sill of greater width. Substantial savings can be realized while providing a superior moisture seal.

Anti-sputtering sill system and method

An anti-sputtering sill system for a window or door frame and a method of controlling sputtering associated with a sill of the window or door frame. The anti-sputtering sill systems may reduce or prevent sputtering by preferentially allowing air bubbles formed in the water in a containment tank in the sill to pass into a vent cavity in the sill that is vented to the interior of a building.

Multi-layer sealing spacer for entryway components

A spacer for sealing a joint between a first component and a second component of an entryway. The spacer may include substantially rigid support and a first gasket having a first uncompressed thickness (T1). The first gasket is attached to a first surface of the support. The first surface has at least one first boss extending therefrom by a distance (D1) such that (D1) is less than (T1). The at least one first boss is configured to abut a portion of the first component to provide the desired compression of the first gasket between the first component and the support.
