An exemplary door includes a door body and a light assembly. The area of the first panel is greater than the area of the second panel opening. The light assembly includes a first trim, a second trim, and an impact-resistant pane positioned in the door cavity. The first trim includes an outer frame coupled to the first door panel and an inner frame positioned in the internal cavity. The pane has an area greater than the area of the second panel opening area, and includes an first outer layer adhered to the inner frame of the first trim, a second outer layer adhered to the door body, and at least one intermediate layer.

LOCK MECHANISM

A lock mechanism according to an embodiment includes an engaging portion, a hook, and a pressing portion. The engaging portion is provided in any one of a housing and a door that is configured to open and close a housing opening portion of the housing. The hook is provided in the other one of the housing and the door to be rotatable around a rotation axis, is engageable with the engaging portion, and is normally disengaged from the engaging portion by its own weight. The pressing portion is provided separately from the hook and is configured to press the hook. The hook includes a hook side engaging portion that is configured to engage with the engaging portion with the rotation axis interposed therebetween, and a hook side pressing portion that is configured to cause the engaging portion to engage with the hook side engaging portion by being pressed by the pressing portion.

The polymer interlayer comprises: at least one soft layer wherein the soft layer comprises a poly(vinyl butyral) resin composition having a dispersity in composition of at least 0.40 and a plasticizer; and a stiff layer comprising a poly(vinyl butyral) resin composition and a plasticizer; wherein the polymer interlayer has a damping loss factor (η) (as measured by Mechanical Impedance Measurement according to ISO 16940) of at least about 0.15 measured at two or more different temperatures selected from 10° C., 20° C. and 30° C.

Hollow core door apparatus for preventing the build up of pressure in a room having a register through which air flows into the room and the door includes an inside door skin and an outside door skin, and the door skins includes openings through which air flows and a center panel between the skins and spaced part from the skins. The center panel has an outer perimeter greater than the inner perimeter of the openings. The center panel is spaced apart from the skins, and also from the adjacent stiles and rails. A chamber is formed about the panel and between the adjacent stiles and rails and the openings in the skins. Air flow from the room is through the opening in the inside skin into the chamber, around the outer periphery of the panel, and outwardly through the opening in the outside skin in a non-linear manner.

A locking mechanism for a door panel to be positioned within and out of blocking relationship with an opening. Mechanism includes a deadbolt rotatably connected to the wall and having a curved configuration and a locking bracket connected to the door panel. The locking bracket extends from the door panel in an angular direction with respect to a plane of door panel. With door panel in a closed position and deadbolt in a first position, the locking bracket extends through the curved configuration. Deadbolt is in blocking relationship with the locking bracket in a direction along a plane of the door panel and is not in blocking relationship in a direction along the locking bracket. With door panel in closed position, deadbolt is in a second position not in blocking relationship with the locking bracket permitting door panel to move in a direction along a plane of the door panel.

A barrier system prevents entry through a structure and includes a first door positioned across an opening in the structure on a first side of the structure and a second door positioned across the opening on a second side of the structure. A protection fabric extends over the second door such that the protection fabric is between the first door and the second door, wherein the protection fabric comprises at least one attachment eyelet along at least one edge of the protection fabric to attach the protection fabric to the structure. The protection fabric has cables that terminate in a series of the eyelets. The eyelets attach to stanchions mounted on a foundation and dissipate the force of impact of a projectile hitting the structure along the protection fabric and the stanchions.
