Two main panels slide parallel to each other to lengthen or shorten the barrier as a whole. Two side panels stabilize the main panels and extend to the front and rear faces of the main panels to provide a self-supporting in-house barrier. Each of the panels includes a wooden frame. The wood lends less weight, less sharp edges, and more pleasing aesthetics than, for example, a metal gate. Legs are connected to the side panels to further stabilize the side panels and main panels.

The cat door device has a body with at least one opening that allows a cat to pass through the body, wherein the body attaches to a door via at least one hinge. During use, the body can be rotated about the hinge such that it is perpendicular to the door and is positioned between the door and the door frame. The body can then be secured to the door frame via at least one fastener such that the door cannot be pushed opened by a dog. When not in use, the body can be rotated about the hinge such that it is perpendicular to the rear surface of the door and can be secured to the door in this position via the fastener.

The cat door device has a body with at least one opening that allows a cat to pass through the body, wherein the body attaches to a door via at least one hinge. During use, the body can be rotated about the hinge such that it is perpendicular to the door and is positioned between the door and the door frame. A locking mechanism for a door panel to be positioned within and out of blocking relationship with an opening. Mechanism includes a deadbolt rotatably connected to the wall and having a curved configuration and a locking bracket connected to the door panel. The locking bracket extends from the door panel in an angular direction with respect to a plane of door panel. With door panel in a closed position and deadbolt in a first position, the locking bracket extends through the curved configuration. Deadbolt is in blocking relationship with the locking bracket in a direction along a plane of the door panel and is not in blocking relationship in a direction along the locking bracket. With door panel in closed position, deadbolt is in a second position not in blocking relationship with the locking bracket permitting door panel to move in a direction along a plane of the door panel.
