DEPLOYABLE STRIP FOR MULTI-SEGMENT RETRACTABLE CURTAIN
A fastener overlay assembly at an interface between first and second curtain segments of a rolling smoke/fire curtain positioned at an opening in a structure, the curtain segments having leading edges affixed to a bottom bar and extend between opened and closed positions by winding on a barrel assembly, each curtain segment connectable to the other curtain segment by a fastener during unwinding. The overlay assembly has an overlay strip with a leading edge proximate a leading edge of the curtain segment(s); and a retractable overlay collector roller attached to a first end of the overlay strip and configured to allow the overlay strip to unwind from a collector roller synchronously with the winding and unwinding of the curtain segments, wherein the retractable fastener overlay strip is arranged, in its extended position, in front of or behind the fastener that connects the first and second curtain segments.

Retractable Security Barrier
A retractable, coilable, security barrier screen easily mounted around a door, window or other building opening such as a hallway entrance. The barrier is designed to withstand considerable forces from blunt force strikes, bullets and edged weapon slashing. As such, it has a strengthened spool tube, novel security barrier attachment methods, and redundant operational features such as dual (top and bottom spool locks), quad spool locking pins and a dual attachment for the fabric security barrier to the screen lock strip that includes both gluing and plate riveting.

Sanitary retractable barrier system
Sanitary barrier systems and methods for preventing transmission of biological substances and protecting human health are provided. A retractable barrier system may include a first supporting member and a barrier film. The first supporting member may comprise a first attachment element configured to position the barrier system vertically in use. The barrier film may have a fixed edge and a free edge, wherein the fixed edge is connected to the first supporting member. The barrier film is extendible to a desired length in a use configuration and retractable back on the first supporting member in a storage configuration. The barrier system may include a retracting mechanism such as a crank or a spring-loaded roller. The barrier film may comprise a sanitary portion. The barrier system may be combined with stanchions or queue barriers to protect individuals waiting in lines. The barrier system may also be used to provide barrier inside a multi-person vehicle.

Retractable barrier assembly
A non-anchored, self-supporting screen assembly for selective placement by a user on a walking surface. The assembly includes a housing having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending therebetween and having an elongate opening. A base independently supports and disposes the housing in an upright position substantially normal to the walking surface during use. A rotatable rod is disposed within the housing and coupled to a trailing edge of a flexible screen. The flexible screen may be coupled to an external attachment point upon extension of the screen through the elongate opening and decoupled upon retraction. A spring is coupled to the rotatable rod to exert a force in a direction opposite a direction of extension of the flexible screen. The flexible screen of an adjacent assembly may be coupled to the assembly to form a screen system.
Retrofitable retractable screen system
A retrofitable retractable screen system for use with windows or doors. Instead of using a spring based tensioning arrangements to rewind the screen onto the roller assembly, the arrangement uses a pulley located on the spindle, around which is wrapped a cord. A guide assembly guides the cord around a tension adjustment arrangement that adjusts the tension in the cord as the screen is wound and unwound from the spindle to provide a smooth mechanism to extend and retract the screen. When the screen is extended, pushing the edge of the screen to force retraction of the screen is translated into a pulling action on the cord to unwind the cord off a pulley, which drives rotation of the spindle to wind the screen back on. Conversely, pulling the distal edge to extend the screen rotates the spindle and pulley to wind the cord back onto the pulley.
