The stack includes at least one silver-based functional metal layer including at least 95.0% by weight of silver, with respect to the weight of the functional layer, and from 0.5 to 3.5% by weight of zinc, with respect to the weight of zinc and silver in the functional layer.
Apparatus with closed loop feedback for forming a nanostructured thin film with porosity gradient on an array of sloped outdoor panel surfaces using meniscus drag
A thin-film coating applicator assembly is disclosed for coating substrates in outdoor applications. The innovative thin-film coating applicator assembly is adapted to apply performance enhancement coatings on installed photovoltaic panels and glass windows in outdoor environments. The coating applicator is adapted to move along a solar panel or glass pane while applicator mechanisms deposit a uniform layer of liquid coating solution to the substrate's surface. The applicator assembly comprises a conveyance means disposed on a frame. Further disclosed are innovative applicator heads that comprise a deformable sponge-like core surrounded by a microporous layer. The structure, when in contact with a substrate surface, deposits a uniform layer of coating solution over a large surface.
INSULATED GLAZING UNITS AND MICROOPTICAL LAYER COMPRISING MICROSTRUCTURED DIFFUSER AND METHODS
Transfer tapes and methods of making transfer tapes are described. In one aspect, the transfer tape comprises a template layer having a structured surface; a backfill layer disposed on at least a portion of the template layer, the backfill layer having a microstructured surface opposite the structured surface; and a layer disposed adjacent the microstructured surface, wherein the layer disposed adjacent the microstructured surface has a refractive index that differs from the backfill layer. The microstructured surface together with the adjacent layer functions as a diffusive layer, or in other words a diffusive interface. Also described are microoptical glazing and methods of making microoptical glazing as well as insulated glazing units and methods of making insulated glazing units.
Connectors for smart windows
This disclosure provides connectors for smart windows. A smart window may incorporate an optically switchable pane. In one aspect, a window unit includes an insulated glass unit including an optically switchable pane. A wire assembly may be attached to the edge of the insulated glass unit and may include wires in electrical communication with electrodes of the optically switchable pane. A floating connector may be attached to a distal end of the wire assembly. The floating connector may include a flange and a nose, with two holes in the flange for affixing the floating connector to a first frame. The nose may include a terminal face that present two exposed contacts of opposite polarity. Pre-wired spacers improve fabrication efficiency and seal integrity of insulated glass units. Electrical connection systems include those embedded in the secondary seal of the insulated glass unit.
Control method for tintable windows
Methods of controlling tint of a tintable window to account for occupant comfort in a room of a building. Some methods include receiving weather feed data from one or more weather services (or other data sources) over a communication network, determining a weather condition based on the weather feed data, and determining a tint level for the tintable window based on the weather condition and based on whether a current time is within a time delay period at sunrise or sunset.
Low-reflection coating glass
The present invention provides low-reflection coating glass in which a dielectric layer having a higher refractive index and a dielectric layer having a lower refractive index are stacked alternately on a glass substrate.
DAYLIGHTING DEVICE AND DAYLIGHTING SYSTEM
A daylighting device according to one aspect of the present invention includes a daylighting member including a first substrate having light transparency and a plurality of daylighting units having light transparency which are provided on a first surface of the first substrate, in which the daylighting unit has a reflective surface which reflects light incident to the daylighting unit, the light which is reflected on the reflective surface and emitted from a second surface of the first substrate has characteristics that the light proceeds toward a space on the same side as the side where the light is incident to the reflective surface among two spaces divided with a virtual plane as a boundary which is vertical to the second surface of the first substrate and parallel to an extension direction of the daylighting unit, and the daylighting member exhibits light absorption characteristics for absorbing a part of the light incident to the plurality of daylighting units.
LIGHT-TRANSMITTING LAMINATE FOR OPTICAL USE
Disclosed is a light transmitting laminate for optical use that is excellent in adhesion and workability. The light transmitting laminate for optical use contains a polyolefin layer and a thin film layer made of a metal layer or a metal oxide layer. The metal layer is made of at least one selected from silver, a silver alloy, aluminum, an aluminum alloy, iron, and an iron alloy. The metal oxide layer is made of at least one selected from an indium tin oxide, an indium zinc oxide, a zinc oxide, a tin oxide, an aluminum zinc oxide, a gallium zinc oxide, and an indium gallium zinc oxide. The thin film layer is formed by sputtering. The polyolefin layer contains on both surfaces thereof silica particles.
