CONTROL METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR NETWORKS OF OPTICALLY SWITCHABLE WINDOWS DURING REDUCED POWER AVAILABILITY
Certain embodiments are directed to control methods, window controllers, and uninterruptible power supplies for determining tinting instructions for optically switchable windows to reduce power usage at a site during a reduced power event. In some cases, reduced power operations are initated by a window controller upon receipt of a trigger signal from an uninterruptible power supply sent when it detects a power loss. In some cases, tinting instructions are based on the remaining charge left on the uninterruptible power supply. In some cases, reduced power operations are delayed for a period of time.
Elastomeric optical device and related operation methods
The invention provides an elastomeric optical device having a first optical state and a second optical state. The device is transparent when in the first optical state and translucent or opaque when in the second optical state. The device comprises, in sequence, a first transparent electrode, a dielectric layer, an elastomer layer, and a second transparent electrode. The elastomer layer preferably has certain mechanical properties, such as a Shore OOO hardness of less than 15, and/or certain chemical properties, such as being substantially devoid of unreacted sites. The second transparent electrode is configured to compress the elastomer layer in response to an electric field between the first and second transparent electrodes, such that when the elastomeric optical device is in the second optical state, the elastomer layer is compressed between the first and second transparent electrodes. Methods of operating an elastomeric optical device are also provided.
Controllers for optically-switchable devices
This disclosure relates generally to optically-switchable devices, and more particularly, to systems, apparatus, and methods for controlling optically-switchable devices. In some implementations, the apparatus includes an interface for communicating with window controllers, and the apparatus includes one or more processors. A processor can be configured to cause status information received from a window controller to be processed. The status information can indicate at least a tint status of one or more optically-switchable devices controlled by the window controller. In response to receiving the status information, one or more tint commands can be sent via the interface to the window controller.
Lighted shade holder
The window shade pocket system may comprise a pocket having an inside surface, a first wall and a second wall, wherein a roller shade is mounted within the pocket; and a first bracket removably affixed to the inside surface of the first wall of the pocket, wherein the first bracket retains a light source. The light source may include at least one of a light bulb, light bar, light strip, LED lighting or reflective device. The light source may be LED lighting that is modular or provides different colors over the window shade fabric. The light source may include a lens. The light source may be at least one of removeable from the first bracket or rotatable within the first bracket. The light source may be at least one of between the window shade and the window, or between the room and the window shade.
Window or door element provided with connection pins
A window or door element includes a frame and an insulated glazing unit removably disposed in the frame, the insulated glazing unit including at least one first electrical connection pin and the frame including at least one second electrical connection pin, the at least one first electrical connection pin of the insulated glazing unit being in electrical contact with the at least one second electrical connection pin of the frame when the insulated glazing unit is inserted into the frame.
Illuminated shade or screen assembly
An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus has a sheet member, a support assembly including a movable, elongated member that is attached to a first end portion of the sheet member, an end assembly attached to a second end portion of the sheet member, and a plurality of lighting devices attached to the sheet member. The plurality of lighting devices is a plurality of flat panel lighting devices.
STORAGE BOX HAVING DISPLAY PANEL
A storage box having a display panel, which allows an article inside a body to be confirmed from the outside according to an increase in the amount of light caused by an internal light source is disclosed. The storage box having a display panel includes the body and a door including a frame and mounted on the body to be opened and closed, wherein the door includes a glass member provided on a front surface side of the frame, a protective panel provided on an inner surface side of the frame, and a transmittance-variable panel provided between the glass member and the protective panel, the transmittance-variable panel is a panel made of a thermoplastic resin of PMMA or PC and nano-sized dyes, a plurality of nano-sized pores are provided in the transmittance-variable panel.
