Window Screen Systems
20210332641 · 2021-10-28 · ·

The present disclosure is directed to a window screen system for use with casement, hopper, awning, utility window designs to prevent dirt, debris, and insects from entering into the interior of the unit. The system can include an installment configured to be installed on existing window frames to provide screen protection only when the window is open and a screen is needed. As such, a user can have a clear view out of the glass window without the unsightliness, distortion, or solar blockage that a traditional “always visible” screen causes.

A screen system for use with a sliding sash of a window to screen an opening as the sliding sash is opened includes a longitudinally extending tube and a spring extending through the interior channel of the tube. The system uses cartridge end caps for restraining the longitudinally extending tube in position within a cartridge housing. A mesh screen includes a leading edge, a trailing edge and opposed side edges. The mesh screen is of sufficient length and width to freely span and substantially cover the window opening when uncoiled and is wrapped around the longitudinally extending tube. The trailing edge of the mesh screen is secured to the longitudinally extending tube and the leading edge is attached to the rail of a window sash. The mesh screen can be unwound from the longitudinally extending tube as the sliding sash is opened, and wound back onto the tube as the sliding sash is closing.

RETRACTABLE SCREEN SYSTEM AND FENESTRATION ASSEMBLY
20210131177 · 2021-05-06 ·

A retractable screen system for a fenestration assembly includes a catch assembly, a pair of edge rails, and a screen assembly. The catch assembly is configured to couple to an outer surface of a sash. The catch assembly includes a catch element. The screen assembly includes a roller housing, a roller assembly, a control bar, and screen material. The roller housing is configured to couple to an outer surface of the frame. The control bar includes a hook element extending along at least a portion of the control bar. The hook element is configured to selectively engage the catch element. The roller assembly is configured to apply tension to the screen material to permit the screen material to unwind from the roller assembly under a tension applied by moving the catch assembly away from the roller assembly when the hook element engages the catch element.

Automatic operation of building window using magnetic fields

An apparatus and method for moving a window sash relative to a window frame. A window comprises a frame and a sash pivotally connected to the frame. A plurality of members are positioned between the sash and the frame, and the plurality of members are arranged in a series. A plurality of magnet sets comprise at least a first magnet operably connected to one member in the series of members and at least a second magnet operably connected to another member in the series of members. The first magnet is adjacent the second magnet, and at least one of the first or second magnets is an electromagnet. Energizing the electromagnets causes the members in the series of members to move relative to each other and causes the sash to move relative to the frame.

SLIDING SCREEN DOOR SYSTEM
20200318410 · 2020-10-08 ·

A sliding screen door system is presented for selectively closing an opening of a vehicle having a fixed screen frame and a sliding screen frame that are connected to one another by a pair of linear slides having an interior member, an exterior member and a center member that facilitate linear sliding of the sliding screen frame relative to the fixed screen frame. The connection of the sliding screen frame to the fixed screen frame with these linear slides suspends the sliding screen frame within the opening of the vehicle thereby eliminating the need for upper and lower rails the encumber the entryway into the vehicle. The sliding screen frame includes a moveable member that accommodates a closing mechanism of the door when it closes thereby allowing the sliding screen frame to be closed when the rear door is closed without causing damage to the sliding screen door.

A fenestration assembly includes a frame assembly, and a sash assembly. The frame assembly includes at least one each unitary frame member formed from a first sheet of material. The sash assembly including at least one unitary member being formed from a second single sheet of material.

Non-Power Driven Window Capable Of Adjusting Ventilation Rate
20200240188 · 2020-07-30 ·

The present invention discloses anon-power driven window capable of adjusting ventilation rate. When the sash is unlocked, due to combined action of the sash's gravitational torque and the expansion of a torsion spring against the sash, the window keeps open. The window is designed having a bigger size in the lower section below the pivot than that in the upper section. Subject to the outdoor wind blowing, the moment by the outdoor wind tends to shut the window. In addition, the upper screen is installed in the outer side of the pane above the pivot, while lower screen is installed to the inner side of the pane below the pivot. Thus the lower sash is exposed into the outdoor air and can be easily blown by the outdoor wind. Consequently, the stronger is the outdoor wind, the smaller is the effective opening of the window for ventilation, and vice versa.
