Fire exit system
A fire exit system is disclosed. In one particular embodiment, the fire exit system may include a motor mechanically coupled to a window such that the motor, when turned on, causes the window to open, a controller coupled to the motor, and a switch coupled to the controller. When the switch is activated, the controller is configured to turn on the motor to open the window.
Knotless security device
A self-contained knotless security device and method for adjustably securing rope-style pilot ladders and debarkation ladders from any rung to ship deck lashing points, the device not relying on additional mechanical fittings or knot-tying skills. The device comprising a section of multi-strand polyester rope comprising an integrated polyolefin core and having a ship end and a ladder end, the ship end comprising a rugged, wear and corrosion-resistant thimble eye or shackle and the ladder end comprising a flexible long soft eye on the other end. The method comprising encircling ladder suspension members with the device and securing the device to the ship deck lashing point. Alternate polyolefin core construction provides tailored performance characteristics.
Flotation device with boarding apparatus
A boarding apparatus for use on a flotation device, in accordance with various embodiments is disclosed herein. The boarding apparatus comprises a stirrup ladder. The boarding apparatus may be integral to a lifeline assembly of the flotation device. The boarding apparatus may be removably coupled to a loop patch of the flotation device. The boarding apparatus may release from the loop patch and become a boarding configuration for the flotation device.

UAV—or personal flying device-delivered deployable descent device
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or manned/unmanned personal flying device (PFD) may be used to deliver a deployable descent system to an elevated location at which people await rescue, such as people trapped in an upper story of a burning building. The UAV or PFD may be used to deliver the descent system, attach the descent system to the building, and deploy the descent system. After deployment, the descent system may be tensioned to prevent sway and facilitate descent. Standoffs may be installed or integrated into the descent system to provide for adequate handholds for descending individuals. Various equipment and methods used in such systems are described herein.

In one particular embodiment, the fire exit system may include a motor mechanically coupled to a window such that the motor, when turned on, causes the window to open, a controller coupled to the motor, and a switch coupled to the controller. When the switch is activated, the controller is configured to turn on the motor to open the window.
Systems, media, and methods for an interactive speed ladder
Systems, media and methods for an interactive speed ladder are provided. A system includes a speed ladder that has parallel side members and parallel cross members each connecting each of the side members. The system may further include a receiving module configured to receive light path sequence data and foot movement data of a user relative to the speed ladder, wherein the light path sequence data and the foot movement data are received from different sources. The system may also further include lights, located within the cross members, configured to display a light path sequence based upon sequence data received prior to a start of the sequence and an output module configured to output user foot movement data.

Fire Escape Device (Ladders with Safety Cord and Fall Arrest System)
Systems and methods are disclosed herein for a fire escape device in form of ladder that can pivotally be mounted to a support platform in form of a window opening or a balcony railing or fix to an interior wall with anchors and provides a safe escape route in case of fires primarily because of its safety cord system. The assembly allows users to fasten a safety belt/harness/full body harness around his body and attaches its lanyard to the top part of the safety cord with a pair of carabiners. Once secured user can start descending and due to the length of each safety cord being about two meters, user must reattach the harness/belt's lanyard to the next safety cord while descending.
