Shelving system with a ladder cage

A ladder cage is provided. The ladder cage includes opposite first and second sidewalls each extending parallel to a longitudinal axis. Spaced apart brackets are coupled to one of the sidewalls. Spaced apart rollers extend between the sidewalls. The rollers are each rotatable relative to the sidewalls along a rotation axis that extends transverse to the longitudinal axis. The rollers and inner surfaces of the brackets and the sidewalls define a housing configured for disposal of a ladder.

A stair assembly for a work vehicle includes a stepped support and an actuator. The stepped support has one or more steps mountable to a side of the work vehicle. The stepped support is moveable by the actuator between a retracted orientation, in which the stepped support has a first length between first and second ends, and an extended orientation, in which the support structure has a greater length. When mounted to the work vehicle, the second end of the stepped support is at an outward lowered position in the extended orientation with respect to the work vehicle relative to an inward raised position of the second end of the stepped support in the retracted orientation.

Folding staircase

A folding staircase for use in a door opening having a threshold. The folding staircase has a pair of stringers that have an upper end and a lower end that is adapted for contacting a ground surface. The stringers are spanned by at least one tread. A hinge is connected to a floor near the door opening and a threshold plate pivotally connected thereto is movable between a use position and a stowed position. The staircase may be provided with a lifting mechanism that biases the staircase and threshold plate toward their stowed positions. The lifting device provides a variable force that provides more rotational force when the staircase would require a user to bear more of its weight and less force when less of the weight of the staircase would be borne by a user.

A telescopic ladder system includes a lower base configured to be connected to a ladder-supporting portion of a vehicle, and a ladder including a base section and a fly section operatively connected to the base section and slidable relative thereto. A supporting member is disposed at a distal end of the fly section. A security railing is connected to the distal end. The ladder has an attachment point for attaching a safety line thereto. The attachment point is disposed at one of the fly section, the supporting member and the security railing. A first actuator selectively sets an inclination angle of the ladder relative to the lower base. A second actuator selectively extends the ladder by sliding the fly section relative to the base section. A safety system and a method for securing an operator atop a vehicle or van are also contemplated.
