SECURELY-ATTACHABLE DURABLE METAL STEP COVER WITH TRACTION SURFACE FOR ENHANCING SAFETY OF RAILROAD CAR SILL STEPS
20180106108 · 2018-04-19 ·

A metal cover for a railcar sill step is disclosed for increased traction, safety, and durability. The metal sill step cover can be quickly and securely attached to a sill step. It has a textured metal traction surface for improving the safety of railroad car sill steps. The sill step cover includes top and front surfaces enhanced with rough metal texture so as to ensure traction when stepped on, and yet is more durable than grit-coated polyester anti-skid tape. Thus, a person is less likely to slip when using the metal step cover, which is especially important during wet or icy conditions. The step cover includes an extended clip portion for quickness and ease of attachment by bending outward so as to slide downward and then engage the rear portion of a sill step. The step cover is then secured to the sill step by screws or nuts and bolts.

BOAT OR RECREATONAL VEHICLE LADDER APPARATUS

A boat or recreational vehicle ladder apparatus is provided. One aspect of the present ladder apparatus includes an elongated extension handle including a slot adjacent a lower end thereof. Another aspect of a boat or recreational vehicle ladder apparatus provides a snap-on step tread which can be mounted to a dual-tubular ladder step structure. Another aspect of a boat or recreational vehicle ladder apparatus employs a laterally expandable ladder step which can be retrofit onto an existing ladder. A further aspect employs clasps or hooks to attach and retain a ladder step to generally vertical ladder rails in a tool-free and fastener-free manner.

A ladder having a first rail and a second rail. The ladder having a standard rung having a width permanently attached to the first rail and the second rail. The ladder having a first wide rung having a width greater than the width of the standard rung, which is permanently attached to the first rail and the second rail. The ladder having a second wide rung having a width greater than the width of the standard rung, which is permanently attached to the first rail and the second rail. The first wide rung and the second wide rung are disposed in a work zone of the ladder. The work zone of the ladder is where a user typically stands on the ladder while performing tasks. The standard rung is disposed outside the work zone.

Rope ladder rung and method of manufacture

A rope ladder assembly having a colored ladder rung comprised of fiber reinforced thermoplastic is disclosed. The rung has an integrally molded non-skid top surface supported on longitudinally oriented support rib members and a plurality of transversely oriented crossing members. The rung is integrally molded of fiber reinforced plastic that is injected into a mold in a manner such that the flow path of fiber reinforced plastic is directed primarily longitudinally along the length of the rung during the molding process. A color additive comprising a base carrier and a non-organic class of pigment is added to the fiber reinforced thermoplastic prior to injection in the mold. The color additive is added at more than 2% of the thermoplastic mixture.

An attachment device for attachment to a pathway comprising a body having: a top surface for receiving foot traffic thereon; at least one point of flexure; and at least one arm extending from the point of flexure with the arm moveable about the point of flexure, the at least one arm configured to engage the pathway or a structural member of the pathway, wherein when engaged, the at least one arm secures the device to the pathway, wherein engagement of the at least one arm results in the device being compressively secured to the pathway in between two component members of the pathway.

LADDER WITH CANTILEVERED STEP

Provided herein is a ladder that includes a cantilevered step. The ladder, for example, may be a stepladder ladder having a cantilevered step disposed at one or more positions on a rail assembly, for example on the front rail assembly. In one illustrative configuration, the cantilevered step may include a first or secured portion that is disposed between a first rail and a second rail of the rail assembly. The cantilevered step may also include a second or extended portion that is cantilevered from the first portion and extends beyond the first rail and the second rail. The second or extended portion of the cantilevered step may be coupled to the first or secured portion along at least two discrete attachment surfaces.

TREADS FOR CLIMBING PRODUCTS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
20250305360 · 2025-10-02 ·

Tread members for climbing products are described herein that have indented treads that may provide enhanced grip and/or improved slip resistance. The treads are formed on a standing or other engagement surface of the tread member. In some approaches, the treads may be incorporated into an upper surface of a rung, step, platform, or plank of the climbing product. The treads include a plurality of pips or ridges extending across the tread member in a first direction. The first direction may be an extrusion direction or a lateral direction. The pips or ridges may provide slip resistance in a direction perpendicular to the first direction. The pips or ridges further have a plurality of indentations or cuts formed therein at an angle of about 5 degrees up to about 90 degrees relative to the first direction. So oriented, the indentations may provide slip resistance in additional directions.
