A step platform for use with a stepladder having front and back legs. The front leg has a plurality of steps. The step platform includes a tread portion connected to a locking portion. The tread portion has a front portion configured to rest upon a selected one of the steps and a back portion configured to extend from the front portion toward the back leg beyond the selected step. The locking portion extends alongside a front portion of the selected step and at least partially wraps around a lower edge of the front portion.

In another embodiment, a rung attachment mechanism having fingers pivotally moves into position around the rung. Tabs placed in the vertical support may be used to hold the handle of a paint can. Other work tools may be placed on the shelf.

A ladder accessory device for holding paint and paint accessories on a ladder is provided. The ladder has a plurality of rungs with each rung having hollowed ends. The ladder accessory device comprises a Y-shaped mounting bracket having a first arm, a second arm opposite the first arm, and a base arm extending in a substantially opposite direction from the first arm and the second arm. A receiving bore is formed in the base arm. A rung shaft is receivable within the receiving bore of the base arm with the rung shaft receivable within the hollowed end of one of the rungs of the ladder. A circular support ring is pivotally mounted between the first arm and the second arm. The circular support ring supports the paint and paint accessories providing an effective means of managing and securing paint, tools, and accessories conveniently and safely within reach while working on the ladder.

A ladder accessory device for insertion into an opening in a prior art ladder rung, wherein the ladder accessory device provides an elevated work environment that is out of the path of an individual ascending/descending the ladder. The accessory device is preferably comprised of a rung insert, a rung insert locking device, a support arm, a platform arm, and a platform arm locking device. The rung insert locking device permits the support arm to be rotated about the rung insert locking device, and the platform arm is likewise rotatable about the support arm. A wide arrange of accessories may also be removably attached to the platform to increase the overall usefulness of the device.

A can caddie for securing a platform to either of two different hollow rung sizes is provided. The can caddie provides a collar portion coupled between a shaft and a platform portion. The shaft has a stirrup shape dimensioned and adapted to snugly fit in the hollow rung of a smaller home use ladder, preventing rotation therein. The collar portion is dimensioned and adapted to snugly fit a larger hollow rung of a commercial ladder, preventing rotation therein. Also, the collar portion may be adapted so as to prevent pivoting of the shaft within the smaller hollow rung by engaging the opening thereof. The platform portion includes a can opening and a plurality of can notches to receive a paint can and its handle, respectively, so as to be secured by gravity. The platform portion is also designed to retain tools and other items.

Provided is a platform assembly that includes a platform having a mounting channel extending downward from the bottom of the platform at a mounting side of the platform, a support arm that supports the platform and engages a ladder, and a locking mechanism attached to the mounting side of the platform. The locking mechanism is configured to cover the mounting channel while in a locked position and uncover the mounting channel while in an unlocked position. When the platform assembly is installed on the ladder and engaged with a standoff bracket installed on the ladder, the platform provides a stable and substantially level platform allowing a user to step on and off the ladder.
