A system and method for a coupling housing. The housing houses a coupling, such as a cable. The housing is coupled to a lift via an attaching device. The coupling can be lowered down to secure to ground equipment. This allows a stranded lift, such as a ski lift, to be properly secured to the ground equipment. This allows for the safe and efficient removal of any stranded passengers.

A ladder safety device is usable for holding and stabilizing a ladder in a safe and stable manner while being used, by way of securing a ladder relative to continuous horizontal guttering at the edge of a building. The device locks to the gutter by way of locking jaws and is secured to the side rail of a ladder by way of an adjustable locking barsaid locking bar being adjustable in lateral and normal directions. The jaws interact by an over-center relationship with each other. In an alternate embodiment, a trigger and locking mechanism secures the jaws in a closed position while in use.

The second lateral member is connected to the elongated member and spaced a distance from the first lateral member. The second lateral member has at least one arm having a substantially U-shaped configuration. The at least one arm is engageable with a rung of the ladder tree stand. An open end of the at least one arm extends away from the second lateral member.

The assembly further includes a distal member, possessing a fastener configured to removably attach to a shoring anchor located on the top portion of a shoring wall. The mediate portion of the restraining assembly is configured to concurrently retain both the proximal and distal members, including a tensioning means for the adjustment of the overall functional length of the restraining assembly. In particular embodiments, the restraining system includes a shoring or excavation support structure having at least one shoring wall that includes a multiplicity of shoring anchors attached at predetermined locations.
