A telescopic device achieves both simultaneous unlocking of paired locking units and easy unlocking of one locking unit, and includes: outer casings; insertion bodies; vertically-arranged rung members; a locking mechanism; and an operating mechanism having an operating member. The locking mechanism comprises retention portion of the insertion body and locking member supported on the outer casing for engagement with and disengagement from the retention portion by separating-approaching motion. The locking member is interlocked to operating member extending from the locking mechanism toward the upper rung member. The operating mechanism has an operating rod for coupling the paired operating members for concurrent movements in unlocking direction. Each end of the operating rod and one operating member are fitted together so that, when manipulating one end of the operating rod in unlocking direction, the operating rod is inclined for movement of one operating member in unlocking direction.

A ladder placement leveling device is easily stored for transport and used by firefighters to quickly and effectively level a fire service ladder put in service on uneven ground. The device is mounted for transport and storage to a ladder and does not impede use of an attached ladder when the device is attached to the ladder a storage positioned. The device includes a wedge, a strap and an assembly for attaching and looping the strap around a ladder rung. One element of the assembly forms a detachable attachment to the wedge. The assembly attaches to the wedge at each end of the detachably formed strap loop.

A ladder stabilizing apparatus that is configured to provide improved stability of a ladder. A plurality of ladder stabilizing apparatus are secured to a desired ladder on opposing rails thereof. The ladder stabilizing apparatus includes an anchor member wherein the anchor member is releasably secured to the rail of the ladder. The lateral support members of the ladder stabilizing apparatus are secured to the anchor member and extend outward therefrom away from the ladder. A shank member is rotatably mounted within the lateral support members and facilitates the rotation of the leg members. The leg members comprise a plurality of telescopic sections that are adjustable with respect to each other. A base plate member is located at the end of the leg member distal to the shank member. Access rail members are secured to the top of the ladder on opposing rails.
