APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING ROCK DRILLING RIG

An apparatus, a method for positioning a rock drilling, and a rock drilling rig is provided. The rock drilling rig includes a mobile drilling platform and a drilling mast connected to the drilling platform. The drilling platform is levelled vertically before initiating drilling. The apparatus determines the needed vertical levelling requirement. The levelling causes displacement of a drilling tool line passing through a drilling tool. The apparatus estimates the displacement and provides aid for the operator to position the drilling platform in order to compensate for the estimated displacement distance.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING A DRILLING RIG

A system and a method are for positioning a drilling rig arranged to drill in a ground. The system has a positioning jig including at least one coupling portion; a drilling rig including at least two coupling portions; and at least two anchoring elements including an upper coupling portion and a lower coupling portion. The lower coupling portion of the anchoring element is arranged to be releasably fixed to the ground. The upper coupling portion of the anchoring element is arranged to be connected to the coupling portion of the positioning jig and to the coupling portion of the drilling rig, so that the upper coupling portion of the anchoring element can optionally be connected to the positioning jig or the drilling rig.

A method for leveling a jacked vehicle may involve: (a) sensing a pitch angle of the vehicle; (b) sensing a roll angle of the vehicle; (c) producing a pitch reference value that is related to the sensed pitch angle of the vehicle; (d) producing a roll reference value that is related to the sensed roll angle of the vehicle; (e) extending a vehicle jack that affects at least the pitch angle of the vehicle at a speed that is related to the pitch reference value; (f) extending a vehicle jack that affects at least the roll angle of the vehicle at a speed that is related to the roll reference value; and (g) repeating (a)-(f) until the sum of the pitch and roll angles falls below a predetermined angle.

Coiled tubing rig

A coiled tubing rig includes a skid, a mast, and a drill floor. The mast may be pivotably coupled to the skid and may be moved between a horizontal position and a vertical position by a hydraulic cylinder. The drill floor may be pivotably coupled to the mast. The drill floor may be moved from a retracted to a deployed position by a hydraulic cylinder. The skid may include a BOP cradle and BOP controls. The coiled tubing rig may include a jib which may telescopically or pivotably extend from the mast. The coiled tubing rig may include a coiled tubing injector which is slidably positionable between a retracted and a deployed position.

UNDERGROUND HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILL

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate generally to underground horizontal directional drills and, more particularly, to aspects of drill operation, ground anchoring, and operator assistance features. In some embodiments, a drill is provided that includes an anchor assembly and/or a rear stabilizer that may pivot relative to a carriage frame of the drill. In other embodiments, a roller bearing system that permits the carriage to translate along the carriage frame is provided. In still other embodiments, rests to support the drill rod during makeup and breakout are described.

Drill rig and method for operating a drill rig

A drill rig includes a drawworks having a drum operably connected to a drive system and a brake. A drill string extends from the drum of the drawworks, along a derrick, to a block and tackle arrangement holding a travelling block so that operation of the drawworks causes the drum to release or retract the drill string. A travelling block controller controls the operation of the drawworks. An interlock sensor senses a sensed parameter, and the sensed parameter is at least one of a drill rig parameter, a drawworks parameter, or a travelling block controller parameter. An interlock signal generated by the interlock sensor is reflective of the sensed parameter. An interlock operably connected to the travelling block controller receives the interlock signal and disables operation of at least one of the travelling block controller or the drawworks if the interlock signal meets a predetermined criteria.

Underground drill rig and systems and methods of using same

A drill rig having a longitudinal drilling axis, a front portion, and a rear portion can comprise a feedframe aligned with the longitudinal drilling axis, a first head assembly coupled to the feedframe and configured to rotate a drill string, and a rod holder proximate the front portion of the drill rig. A second head assembly can be movable on the feedframe along the longitudinal axis and can include a powered water swivel assembly comprising a spindle having an interior bore a drill rod connector at a first end of the spindle, a motor that is configured to rotate the spindle, a clutch configured to disengage the motor from the spindle, a gearbox that couples the motor to the spindle, and a water swivel that is configured to provide drilling fluid to the interior bore of the spindle.
