A drill bit that serves to remove mineral materials and that consecutively has on a longitudinal axis (6) a drill head (2), a helix (3), an insertion end (4) and an impact surface (7) on the end face of the insertion end (4) that faces away from the drill head (2) and that serves to absorb impact along a direction of impact (8), is provided. The drill head (2) has at least two cutting edges (13) and at least two blades (20). The cutting edges (13) each have a cutting face (16) and a free face (17).The blades (20) run parallel to the longitudinal axis (6) and adjoin the cutting edges (13). The blades (20) each have a radially projecting tooth (24) that adjoins the cutting face (16), whereas it adjoins the free face (17) either only partially or not at all. The axial dimension (29) of the tooth (24) is smaller than the axial dimension (25) of the blade (20).

A drill bit for drilling into masonry or rock includes a drilling head at its forward end, a clamping shank at its rearward end, and a helical conveying portion extending between the drilling head and the shank. The helical conveying portion includes at least two helically extending flutes separated by at least two helically extending webs. The helical conveying portion has a changeover portion, a pre-changeover portion between the drilling head and the changeover portion, and a post-changeover portion between the changeover portion and the shank. In the pre-changeover portion, the flutes have a pre-changeover pitch, the first web has a first pre-changeover web width , and the second web has a second pre-changeover web width . In the post-changeover portion, the flutes have a post-changeover pitch, the first web has a first post-changeover web width , and the second web has a second post-changeover web width . The post-changeover pitch is greater than the pre-changeover pitch, the first post-changeover web width is less than the first pre-changeover web width , and the second post-changeover web width is greater than the second pre-changeover web width .

Twist drill and production method

The twist drill (1) has a drilling head (3), a continuous two-flute, three-flute to six-flute helix (4) and an insertion end (5) that are arranged consecutively on a drill axis (2). The helix (4) has a radial outer dimension (18) that varies periodically two, three to six times per revolution around the drill axis (2). The invention also relates to a production method for such a drill.

Manufacturing Process, Tool Stand, and Drill Bit

A method for producing a drill includes cold forming of a rod-shaped blank to form a semifinished product having three or more rectilinear longitudinal ribs extending along a longitudinal axis of the semifinished product, introducing the longitudinal ribs into a first die and a second die in a working direction, where the first die bears against the longitudinal ribs in a direction of rotation about the longitudinal axis and the second die bears against the longitudinal ribs counter to the direction of rotation, pivoting the first die in the direction of rotation in relation to the second die in order to twist the longitudinal ribs between the first and second dies, pulling the longitudinal ribs 31 through the pivoted first die and the second die counter to the working direction in order to twist the longitudinal ribs and apply a drill head to the rear end in the working direction.

Hole opener

A hole opener configured for use with a power unit to open a hole. The hole opener comprises a gearbox including a hydraulic inlet fluidly coupled to the power unit and an exciter fluidly coupled to the hydraulic inlet, the exciter being coupled to a gear train including an imbalanced mass which is configured to generate vibrations upon receipt of pressurized hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic inlet. The hole opener further comprises a connector coupled to the gearbox for receiving the vibrations, the connector defining a void, and a hammer slidably coupled to the connector within the void, the hammer configured to receive the vibrations from the connector and to transmit the vibrations to the hole.

Drill Bit and Production Method

A drill bit has, along a drill bit axis, a drilling head, a multi-start helix made of two or more helical coils, and an insertion end. The helix has a helix slope and a pitch in a delivery region. In an outlet region of the helix, the outlet region being directed towards the insertion end, the helical coils merge continuously, within a first portion, from an orientation in alignment with the helix slope into an orientation parallel to the drill bit axis. A length of the first portion is at least one quarter of the pitch of the delivery region. The helical coils, in a second portion, are oriented parallel to the drill bit axis.
