A mast assembly for a mobile drilling machine may comprise: a mast frame including a back, a first side, and a second side, the first side and the second side diverging from the back to form an open front along substantially an entire length of the mast frame; a drill motor assembly movably attached to the mast frame, wherein the drill motor assembly is configured to rotate a drill pipe; and a drill drive assembly configured to drive the motor assembly up and down along a length of the mast frame, the drill drive assembly including: a sheave assembly comprising a plurality of sheaves, wherein the plurality of sheaves include a first sheave aligned generally parallel to the first side of the mast frame and a second sheave aligned generally parallel to the second side of the mast frame.

An operating system, rock drilling rig and method for operating an electrically operated rock drilling rig. The operating system includes an electric system connected to an electric supply source and having one or more electric motors controlled by electric control devices. The system further includes a hydraulic system having one or more hydraulic pumps and hydraulic control devices. There are hydraulic tramming actuators connected to closed loop hydraulic circuits and hydraulic drilling actuators connected to either open or closed loop circuits.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL DRILLING EXPERIMENT PLATFORM
The present invention relates to a multi-functional drilling experiment platform, which consists of a gantry, a hydraulic cylinder, a power swivel and a platform base. The gantry mainly realizes the control of the drill string during the drilling-in process. In order to simulate the vertical well, the inclined well, and the horizontal well, the drilling machine needs to rotate between 0 and 90. The rotation of the gantry is realized by the extension and contraction of the hydraulic cylinder. The platform base is used to set up the gantry and the hydraulic cylinder, bearing the pulling, pressing and twisting loads of drilling experiments. Also, the platform base can move along the track to achieve different types of experiments. The multi-functional drilling experiment platform of the present invention realizes the load simulation experiment of the drilling machine at different angles using the gantry and the hydraulic cylinder.
DRILLING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SCREWING DRILL ROD ELEMENTS TO A DRILLING DEVICE
A drilling device having a drill drive, a positioning means, a receiving part, a clamping means, and a control unit. The receiving part holds a first drill rod element with a first thread region. The clamping means is positioned on the drill drive for holding at least a second drill rod element having a second thread region. The control unit actuates the drill drive and the positioning means to screw the first and second thread regions together. A distance measuring means detects an adjustment distance of the drill drive along a guide as an actual value. The control unit determines an adjustment distance as a nominal value from a detected revolution speed of the drill drive during screwing and a predetermined thread constant. The control unit determines a difference from the nominal and actual values, and uses the difference to adjust the drill drive and/or the positioning means.
DETECTING SYSTEM IN A SOIL DRILLING MACHINE AND RELATED METHOD
A system and method detect at least one mechanical locking position of a drill string in a soil drilling machine. According the system and method, there are: a sensor apparatus which is configured to detect first data indicating the position assumed by the top of the drill string and second data indicating the position assumed by the bottom of the drill string. A control unit calculates the estimated length of the drill string based on the data and to compare the estimated length with a reference length value. A pair of kelly rods is in a mechanical locking position; and a signaling apparatus which is configured to signal when the estimated length corresponds to a reference length value.

System and method to automatically position a machine in a shipping configuration
A machine includes a boom coupled to a movable carrier and at least one boom actuator adapted to actuate the boom. At least one boom sensor is configured to generate signals indicative of a spatial orientation of the boom. A drilling work device is coupled at a distal portion of the boom. First and second actuators are adapted to actuate the drilling work device. At least one drilling work device sensor is configured to generate signals indicative of a spatial orientation of the drilling work device. A controller receives signals indicative of the spatial orientation of the boom, receives signals indicative of the spatial orientation of the drilling work device, and actuates at least one of the at least one boom actuator and the first and second actuators through series of predetermined steps to automatically position the machine in a shipping configuration.

Multifunctional articulated drilling machine with improved stability
A multifunctional articulated drilling machine, particularly but not exclusively adapted for excavation and drilling operations in galleries and tunnels, includes a vehicle equipped with tracks and a drilling member, a connection arm adapted to connect the drilling member to the vehicle, a first constraining system constraining the lower end of the arm to the vehicle, and a second constraining system constraining the guide of the drilling member to the upper end of the arm. The tracks can be translated crosswise in order to vary the distance between them.
