FLEXIBLE PIPE AND A METHOD FOR PROVIDING BUOYANCY TO AJUMPER OR RISER ASSEMBLY
A riser or jumper assembly for transporting production, exportation or injection fluids is disclosed as is a method for providing buoyancy to such an assembly. The riser or jumper assembly includes a first segment of flexible pipe comprising a portion of flexible pipe body and a first and second end fitting, a further segment of flexible pipe comprising a portion of flexible pipe body and a first and second end fitting and an intermediate segment of flexible pipe comprising a portion of flexible pipe body and a first and second end fitting and at least one buoyancy element.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A PIPE SEGMENT
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a pipe segment for a link tube between the sea floor and a petroleum drilling rig disposed on the sea surface, wherein it consists in: providing a transport pipe segment that is resistant to open-sea conditions; disposing a female bayonet-piece around one reinforced end of the transport pipe segment; welding or otherwise bonding a narrower portion of the bayonet-piece to said reinforced end; disposing an insulator around the transport pipe segment and around the bayonet-piece; inserting the transport pipe segment into an outer wall segment; welding or otherwise bonding a narrower portion of the outer wall segment to the other reinforced end of the transport pipe segment; disposing a cover-piece around the bayonet-piece; welding or otherwise bonding the cover-piece to the outer wall segment and to the bayonet-piece; it being possible to apply tightening torque to the outer wall segment and to transmit it to the transport pipe segment.
Subsea removable flex joint laydown tool
A subsea removable flex joint laydown tool is described herein. The tool can include a body having a first portion and a second portion hingedly coupled to the first portion. The tool can also include a flex joint coupling feature disposed on an inner surface of the first portion and the second portion toward a proximal end of the body, where the flex joint coupling feature is configured to couple with a first laydown tool coupling feature of a flex joint. The tool can further include a riser coupling feature disposed on the inner surface of the first portion and the second portion toward a distal end of the body, where the riser coupling feature is configured to couple with a second laydown tool coupling feature of a riser. The tool can also include at least one laydown tool coupling feature movably coupled to the first portion.
Line guiding device for hanging applications, particularly as a service loop for a drilling rig
A line routing device for guiding a plurality of lines, such as cables, hoses, or the like, particularly for hanging applications, such as supplying a vertically traveling power head of a drill. The line routing device has a flexible carrying strand and a plurality of guide bodies arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the carrying strand. According to the invention, adjacent guide bodies can be deflected spatially toward each other and each guide body has a central part having a center axis, which extends coaxially to the carrying strand, and an outer part having at least one circumferential element. The outer part delimits a receiving region, which is open in the axial direction, for the lines, radially to the outside.
BEND RESISTOR
The present application provides apparatus (200) for resisting bending of an elongate and flexible member, comprising an elongate inner support structure (202) defining an axial bore (254) for receiving an elongate and flexible member subject to bending in use, and at least one outer layer (204) comprising a plurality of fibres embedded in a polymer matrix, wherein each fibre is helically arranged along the outer layer and configured to resist a tensile force during said bending in use. A method of manufacturing the apparatus is also provided.
Method For Installation And Implementation Of A Rigid Tube From A Ship Or Floating Support
A method of installing and implementing a rigid tube (10) referred to as a main tube, wherein the following steps are performed: a) lowering an end of the main tube from a floating support or vessel (13) on the surface (14) to below sea level (14) to be connected to undersea equipment (16) that is immersed (17); and b) maintaining the main tube as immersed in this way for a given period of time. The said main tube (10) is caused to pass through a cylindrical orifice (4) of circular section in a stress limiter device, the orifice having a slippery internal coating (3) secured to a support structure (9) secured to the floating support or vessel, the service tube thus being suitable for sliding in contact against the slippery coating during steps a) and b).
Bundled, articulated riser system for FPSO vessel
A method and apparatus for bundling flexible risers uses a vertically-hanging riser support shaft extending below the turret of a turret-moored FPSO to manage the motions of the risers. The risers may transition to a catenary configuration as they exit a bottom structure at the lower end of the riser support shaft and connect to wellheads or flowlines on the seafloor. Certain embodiments are suitable for use with a disconnectable buoyant turret mooring system while other embodiments may be used with spread-moored FPSOs.
Collars for multiple tubulars
A collar for axially positioning a vortex-induced vibration (VIV) suppression device along a tubular is disclosed. The collar has an annular body portion and a plurality of support members extending in a radial direction from the annular body portion. The support members are annularly spaced around the annular body portion such that gaps are formed between the support members, the gaps being dimensioned to receive an auxiliary tubular positioned external to a main tubular around which the annular body portion is positioned.
Conduit anchor
Disclosed is conduit anchor, an offshore system comprising a conduit anchor and a method of deployment. The conduit anchor includes a base section adapted for attachment to a conduit, and a conduit guide extending from the base section. In use a dynamic conduit extends along a dynamic conduit pathway range defined by the anchor, via the conduit guide. The conduit guide comprises a convex bend protecting surface region oriented towards the dynamic conduit pathway range which in use protects against over bending of the dynamic conduit.
Compliant component for supporting bend stiffeners
The present invention comprises a structure with the same external geometry as a generic hook, but with a topology (internal structuring) that allows a greater distribution of deformation energy to all elements of the part, with load transfer to other less stressed regions. When the present invention is subjected to a loading, said flexible parts deform in a pre-specified manner, transferring part of a loading that would be excessive in a given region to another less loaded region, without any power supply or external interference. In this way, the deformation pattern that occurs in the present invention relieves stresses where they are greatest and, at the same time, provides flexibility (compliance), more adequately distributing coupling loads between the various fastening components.
