Magnetic fishing tool and use thereof in fishing operations
A method of removing a target fish from a wellbore includes preparing a fishing assembly having a magnetized pipe coupled to an end of a work string. The fishing assembly is run into the wellbore, and the magnetized pipe is positioned at an effective position in which a threaded end of the target fish is aligned with a threaded end of the magnetized pipe by magnetic attraction between the magnetized pipe and the target fish. A threaded connection is made up between the threaded end of the target fish and the threaded end of the magnetized pipe. The fishing assembly with the attached target fish is then retrieved from the wellbore to a surface location.
Protection assembly for downhole wet connectors
The invention addresses protecting the free ends of communication lines from debris during downhole wet-mate connection in a wellbore, with protection of the lines upon disconnection as well. A reciprocating debris exclusion device is provided for use with upper and lower tools to be connected. The lower tool has a reciprocating cover member mounted for sliding engagement with the housing of the lower tool, the cover member shielding the free end of a communication line. An upper tool has a bladder-type cover member attached to the upper tool and protecting the free end of a communication line. The reciprocating cover member is moveable between a closed and an open position and is moved in response to contact with the upper tool. The bladder cover is movable between closed and open positions and is moved to the open position by contact with the reciprocating cover member of the lower tool.
Operating Tool For an Artificial Lift System
An operating tool for an artificial lift system includes a housing having a key slot. The operating tool further includes at least one biasing member disposed in the housing. The operating tool further includes a key including a key head having a key profile, wherein the key head is remove from the slot when aligned with the key slot. The operating tool further includes a cam including a cam profile, wherein the cam is disposed in the housing and biased toward the slot by the at least one biasing member, wherein the cam profile is configured to engage the key profile to align the key head with the key slot.
MECHANICALLY ACTUATED TUBULAR DRILLING, REAMING AND RUNNING TOOL WITH SLIP SET CONTROL
An apparatus for transferring torque comprising a pipe handling assembly configured to use fluid pressure to provide torque forces to set or release slips from a pipe. Set down force or other frictional measures on a pipe collar are not required. A method to create reactive torque force comprising a series of gears interconnected with each other through a clutch that can be engaged and disengaged. A link may be provided to a top drive rail via a gripperbox which provides reactive force to stop rotation of a power screw female (threaded nut) to facilitate threading action to set or release slips on pipe. Reactive force may be created using a plurality of axial pistons attached to a moveable half of a hirth coupling. Other friction-creating members (such as, for example, a brake pad material or similar material) may be used to create frictional forcesbetween two surfaces.
Perforating device for horizontal wells
A perforating device includes a release sub, a rotating segment, a first centralizer, a braking segment, a casing collar locator, a traction mechanism, a second centralizer, a flex joint, a power supply segment, a shock absorber, a perforator, and a tail segment, which are in threaded connection sequentially to each other. The first joint assembly includes a first joint, a guide key, a connecting sleeve including a locking groove, a second joint, and an outer pipe; the first joint of the first joint assembly is in threaded connection to the cable bridle, and the second joint is in threaded connection to the outer pipe. The connecting sleeve is disposed inside the outer pipe and is connected to the first joint through the guide key. The second joint assembly includes a plurality of locking claws, a third joint, and a head.
Single trip liner hanger system
A liner hanger system enables installation of a liner hanger by means of a full bore casing to surface and provides pressure integrity between the casing's inner and outer sides. The liner hanger system comprises a liner hanger, along with an associated liner, coupled to a tieback casing string. The liner hanger and liner are deployed downhole connected to a tieback casing string. Once the liner has been lowered to the position of interest, first the liner hanger is anchored and cemented in position, and then, a packer is set to seal the lower annulus of the liner. The liner hanger system enables operations that used to require a plurality of trips, to be performed in a single trip. It does so without introducing any unwanted limitation to the inner diameter at any point between the wellhead and the end of the liner, and while also allowing for potential decoupling and removal of the tieback casing string from the liner hanger if desired.
Ground drilling device and method for drilling in soil
A ground drilling device for drilling in soil by means of a drill string, wherein the ground drilling device comprises a drilling carriage and a sled movable in translation on the drilling carriage, and on the sled there is arranged a holder a) for the screwed connection of a rod section to the drill string, or b) for the screwed detachment of a rod section from the drill string, wherein the holder can move in translation relative to the sled in order to compensate for a change in the position of the holder caused by the screwing process.
