The cable insert may further comprise a first segment and a second segment, wherein the cable insert is disposed between the lower body and the upper body, and wherein the cable insert is configurable to clamp directly onto a wireline cable. The environmental sensing wireline standoff may further comprise a sensor package. A method of assembling an environmental sensing wireline standoff may comprise securing a first segment of a cable insert into a lower body, securing a second segment of the cable insert into an upper body, attaching the sensor package to the upper body, and securing the lower body to the upper body.
DOWNHOLE TOOL FOR CONNECTING WITH A CONVEYANCE LINE
A downhole tool for connecting with a conveyance line. The downhole tool may be or comprise a connector assembly operable to connect to the line. The connector assembly may include a first connector, a second connector, a latching member, and a rotatable member. The first connector and the second connector may be configured to accommodate the line therebetween. The latching member may be latched against the first connector. The rotatable member may be operatively connected with the latching member such that rotation of the rotatable member with respect to the latching member causes relative axial movement between the latching member and the rotatable member thereby forcing the first connector and the second connector toward each other to compress the line therebetween to therefore connect the connector assembly to the line.
INSTALLATION KIT, HOLLOW ROD, DRILL STRING AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING OR REWORKING A HOLLOW ROD OF A DRILL STRING
Installation kit for hollow rods of a pipe string, in particular a drill string, with a first end and a second end, which are connected to one another by at least one connecting line. One of the two ends is arranged in a pin of the hollow rod, and the other end is arranged in a box of the hollow rod. A seal is arranged on the first end and/or on the second end, where the first end of an installation kit that is to be connected is sealed relative to the second end, and a sealing element that seals the respective end relative to the pin or the box is arranged on the peripheral surface of each end.
Cable head for attaching a downhole tool to a wireline
A cable head for attaching a wireline to a downhole tool includes an upper tubular member and a lower tubular member removably attached by a threaded connection. The cable head includes a pack-off assembly disposed within the upper tubular member. The pack-off assembly includes a deformable pack-off element comprising an outer sidewall for sealing against an inner sidewall of the upper tubular member, and an inner sidewall for sealing around the wireline. The pack-off assembly includes a biasing means axially in line with the deformable pack-off element. The pack-off element and the biasing means are axially compressed between an internal shoulder of the upper tubular member and the lower tubular member when the upper and lower tubular members are removably attached by the threaded connection, to enhance the seal of the tubular pack-off element with the inner sidewall of the upper tubular member, and with the wireline.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TESTING OF THE DOWNHOLE CONNECTOR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DURING INSTALLATION
Disclosed are methods and devices for testing downhole connector electrical systems and cable integrity during installation of a permanent completion, including a customized retrievable plug arm assembly connectable to the completion during RIH, the tool mimicking a retrievable ESP, but without motor, and can be employed with or without pressure isolation. Another method employs a slidable starpoint located within the downhole wet mate connector of the completion to provide continuous electrical contact between the phases when no retrievable assembly is in place. When a retrievable assembly is later put in place, the slidable starpoint is moved into a second position that no longer provides electrical contact between the phases. Another method uses fusible links installed between two conductors within the downhole electrical connector system of the completion to provide similar electrical contact between phases, the fusible link configured to melt away once motor current is sent through the conductors.
Downhole conveyance line cutter
A downhole conveyance line cutter operable to be conveyed downhole within a wellbore along a conveyance line that conveys a tool string within the wellbore and then cut the conveyance line. The downhole conveyance line cutter may have a body, a fluid chamber within the body, a piston slidably disposed within the fluid chamber, a knife that is movable with respect to the body, an arm operatively connecting the piston and the knife, and a fluid source operable to pump a fluid into the fluid chamber to cause the piston to move the arm which moves the knife to cut the conveyance line.
Downhole Conveyance Line Cutter
A downhole conveyance line cutter operable to be conveyed downhole within a wellbore along a conveyance line that conveys a tool string within the wellbore, connect to the conveyance line, and cut the conveyance line. The downhole conveyance line cutter may comprise a body, a cutting member operable to cut the conveyance line, and a clamping mechanism operable to connect the downhole conveyance line cutter to the conveyance line. The clamping mechanism may comprise a clamping member pivotably connected with the body and an actuator operable to pivot the clamping member to cause the clamping member to engage the conveyance line thereby connecting the downhole tool to the conveyance line such that the downhole tool can be retrieved out of the wellbore via the conveyance line after the downhole tool cuts the conveyance line.
Environmental Sensing Wireline Standoff
The use of an environmental sensing wireline standoff may improve operations during borehole logging procedures. An environmental sensing wireline standoff may comprise a lower body, an upper body, and a cable insert.
Fastening means for fastening of a cable to a tubular body
A fastening means is for attaching a cable to a tubular body. The tubular body has a sleeve with a first end face and a second end face. The fastening means has a first attachment part arranged with a first abutment surface for resting against the first end face; a second attachment part arranged with a second abutment surface for resting against the second end face; both the first attachment part and the second attachment part including a through cable recess; and a tightening device for pulling the first attachment part and the second attachment part towards each other.
