WELL COLLAPSE RECONNECT SYSTEM

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for remediating damaged casing or liner in a hydrocarbon well, e.g. caused by collapsed formation. Damaged liner is milled away and a straddle joint (20) located in the exposed ends of liner (8,9), bridging the gap between them and restoring most of the inner diameter. The straddle joint (20) includes cement ports (25) through which cement may be injected into any cavity (4) in the rock surrounding the straddle joint (20), thereby supporting the rock and helping to prevent further collapse.

AN EXPANDING METAL SEALANT FOR USE WITH MULTILATERAL COMPLETION SYSTEMS

A junction for use in a multilateral completion system is presented. The junction comprises a metal sealant applicable to a lateral component of the multilateral completion system. The metal sealant is expanding in response to hydrolysis and after activation forms a seal and an anchor with a well casing or tubing of the multilateral completion system. The metal sealant is expanding in response to one of an alkaline earth metal hydrolysis and a transition metal hydrolysis. More specifically, the metal sealant is expanding in response to one of magnesium hydrolysis, aluminum hydrolysis, calcium hydrolysis, and calcium oxide hydrolysis.

A rotating flow coupler that is configured to couple multiple sections of a casing for a horizontal well, wherein the rotating flow coupler is configured to rotate relative to the casing allowing an additional degree of freedom for equipment being lowered into the well. This may allow for equipment such as coil tubing, drilling string, casings strings, etc. to reach a total distance of deeper laterals.

Downhole hanger systems are described. The downhole hanger systems include a first structure having an outer surface, a second structure having an inner surface, wherein the first structure is disposed within the second structure, and at least one rib set is arranged on the outer surface of the first structure and configured to be engageable with the inner surface of the second structure. The at least one rib set includes a first rib having a first rib height and a second rib having a second rib height that is less than the first rib height.

Large width diameter riser segment lowerable through a rotary of a drilling rig

This disclosure includes auxiliary-line riser segment assemblies (e.g., with isolation units) that are suitable for managed pressure drilling (MPD) and that can be lowered (e.g., when connected to other riser segment assemblies) through a rotary of a drilling rig. Some embodiments are configured to have portions of the auxiliary lines connected (e.g., without welding) below the rotary.

Downhole location indication system

A downhole indicating device includes a collet body and a slidable collet comprising a protrusion and surrounding and slidable along a length of the collet body between a low snap position and a high snap position. In the low snap position, the protrusion is depressible under a low snap force, and in the high snap position, the protrusion is depressible under a high snap force with the low snap force being less than the high snap force.
