A harsh environment integrated MPD riser joint includes a dynamic annular sealing system, a static annular sealing system disposed directly below the dynamic annular sealing system, and a flow spool, or equivalent thereof, disposed directly below the static annular sealing system. The dynamic annular sealing system may be a conventional ACD-type, RCD-type, or other conventional annular sealing system. The static annular sealing system may include one or more annular packer systems and one or more connection sealing elements that engage drill pipe during connection or non-rotation operations only. The dynamic annular sealing system may maintain annular pressure during drilling operations while the static annular sealing system is disengaged. The static annular sealing system may maintain annular pressure during connection operations while the dynamic annular sealing system is disengaged. Advantageously, the static annular sealing system is capable of withstanding jarring heaving action encountered in harsh environments.

LIQUID FILLING AND TESTING OF MARINE DRILLING RISER

A drilling riser testing system includes a water filling system and a pressure testing system that can fill and pressure test auxiliary lines of the riser system, while the riser joint is being held on the spider on the drill floor. The filling and pressure testing can also be carried out while the next riser joint is being retrieved and positioned by the top drive and/or a riser running too.

In line inspection strain device method and apparatus for performing in line joint inspections

A system and method to inspect and monitor stress, strain, leakage, corrosion and disjointing of rigid metallic and non-metallic connector fittings used to join sections of non-metallic flexible reinforced thermoplastic pipe (RTP), as well as inspecting and monitoring the structural health of RTP in the area of connections with casement shields concentrically mounted on and adhered to the outer surface of the RTP at or adjacent to connection with a rigid connector fitting, monitoring sensors installed in the casement shields, a management system for receiving, processing and transmitting information gathered from the sensors via SCADA or other computerized means for monitoring and regulating strain impact, determining stress level and direction, potential leaks and temperature spikes at connector fitting areas, and a mechanism for acoustical detection or simulation, with a computer system for receiving, processing and transmitting information gathered from acoustical micro packs on the casement shields.

Present embodiments relate to a riser bolt torque device that is configured to couple a first riser joint to a second riser joint to form a riser of a subsea drilling system. The riser bolt torque device includes a first arm and a second arm, multiple torque tools supported on the first arm and the second arm, and one or more actuators configured to drive the first arm and the second arm to pivot relative to one another from an open configuration to a closed configuration to enable alignment between the multiple torque tools and a flange of the first riser joint.

Connectors for high temperature geothermal wells

Connectors may be used for connecting case settings in high temperature wells, such as geothermal or oil wells. The connector is simple in design and is able to take up thermal expansion due to temperature change when high temperature media starts to flow through the casings and when the well needs to be cooled down for maintenance.
