System and methodology utilizing conductor sharing offset shoe

A technique facilitates drilling operations by combining a conductor with a conductor sharing offset shoe system. The conductor sharing offset shoe system protects against collision of boreholes by properly positioning and/or orienting a drill string during drilling of boreholes through the conductor. The conductor sharing offset shoe system may comprise a bullnose disposed at a lower end of the shoe system and an upper guide member disposed at an upper end of the shoe system with a guide opening sized to receive the drill string therethrough. A guide tubing extends from the guide opening into the bullnose to guide the drill string during drilling of a borehole. The guide tubing is sized to preserve sufficient space for accommodating movement of the drill string through the conductor sharing offset shoe system externally of the guide tubing during drilling of another borehole.

Cable protecting device

Cable protecting device protects cables extending over a feature on a pipe surface. The feature is a known length outside the pipeline circumference and has a first and second end surface. The device has a length in the direction of the pipeline longer than the feature and includes a channel for enclosing the cable and a recess in the inner surface for containing at least a part of the feature. The ends of the device at least partially cover the corresponding parts of the feature ends. The length of the recess corresponds essentially to the length of the feature. Each end of the recesses is provided with engaging means adapted to engage with the corresponding end surfaces of the feature. The protecting device is made in one piece, including a flexible spring section in the section extending over the recess, between the first and second ends of the device.

Method for injecting fluid into a formation to produce oil

A method and system for enhancing petroleum production are provided, in which a fracturing operation can be conducted in a formation through a string and then petroleum is displaced from the fractured formation by selectively injecting fluid into selected fractures in the formation while other non-selected fractures remain without fluid injection. The injected fluid flows out into the fractured formation and enhances recovery from the non-selected fractures. Petroleum is selectively collected from the non-selected fractures.

Method of plugging a well

A method of plugging a well in a plug and abandonment procedure includes providing a tubing in a wellbore, in a location for a well plug, the tubing is provided with an internal cable section placed inside of the tubing, and forming a plug in the well in said location for the well plug across the width of the tubing and a surrounding wellbore annulus to create a permanent barrier without pulling the tubing from the wellbore. The step of forming the plug includes substantially removing the internal cable section inside the tubing and forming a fluid-tight seal in the tubing where the internal cable section has been removed, for separating, on either side of the seal, first and second fluid volumes of the tubing.

Methods and systems for recovering oil from subterranean reservoirs

A method and system for recovering oil from a subterranean reservoir. The method includes delivering an injection gas through an injection flow path into a plurality of regions of the reservoir via a plurality of outflow devices arranged along the injection flow path, producing oil from a plurality of regions of the subterranean reservoir via a production flow path with a plurality of inflow devices arranged along the production flow path, and restricting flow of the injection gas into the production flow path from the reservoir. The restricting of the flow in injection gas may be by choking the flow of the injection gas through at least one of the plurality of inflow devices such that the residence time of the injection gas within the subterranean reservoir is increased.

Submersible pump cable connector assembly
10760350 · 2020-09-01 · ·

A field attachable submersible pump cable connector assembly for an electrical connection in a well head, allowing for direct connector assembly to the ESP cable eliminating the cable to cable splice. The connector assembly permits the use of standard crimping pliers to crimp the ends of a heavy gauge multi-conductor cables typically used for electric submersible pump (ESP) cables to the power pin for connection to an electrical power source external to the well head. The connector assembly protects the crimped connection from contaminants and the corrosive environment within the well head.

A creep resistant material comprises a core layer (12) of rigid polyurethane with a first tensile reinforcement layer (17) applied on one surface and a second tensile reinforcement layer (17) applied on the other opposed surface of the core layer, the entire respective first and second tensile reinforcement layers being in contact with the first and second surface of the core layer of the material.

Clampless cable protector and installation system

A cable protector can include a first side bar welded along a length of a casing section. A second side bar can be welded along the length of the casing section. The second side bar can be positioned substantially parallel to the first side bar. A cable can be positioned between the first side bar and the second side bar. The cable can be positioned while the casing section is being run-in-hole. A cover strip can be welded on top of first side bar and the second side bar. The cover strip can be welded in place while the casing section is being run-in-hole.

LOW FRICTION CABLE PROTECTOR CLAMP
20200158206 · 2020-05-21 ·

A cable clamp for attaching a cable or tubing to a tubular drill casing string comprising an at least one-piece low friction polymer clamp having an interior surface geometry matching an exterior geometry of the casing string and cable, and an exterior surface geometry which is larger than the largest outside profile of the casing string and the cable or tubing so that the exterior surface of the clamp carries at least some of the contact load between the casing string and the wellbore. The clamp has a low friction exterior surface to reduce sliding friction between the clamp and the wellbore during drilling and a high-friction interior surface to grip the casing string and reduce slippage between the clamp and the casing string, and can be hinged and include a band for securing the clamp to the casing string.
