Wear bushing retrieving system and method

A system includes a wear bushing retrieval tool. The wear bushing retrieval tool an annular main body configured to be disposed about a tubular string, a plurality of locking dogs, wherein each locking dog of the plurality of locking dogs is pivotably coupled to the annular main body, a first axial securement feature coupled to the annular main body, and a second axial securement feature coupled to the main body, wherein the first and second axial securement features are configured to cooperatively axially capture a coupling of the tubular string when the annular main body is disposed about the tubular string.

Wear Bushing Deployment and Retrieval Tool for Subsea Wellhead
20190242217 · 2019-08-08 ·

An apparatus deploys and retrieves a wear bushing in a wellhead during the same trip, such as when using a bottom hole assembly for drilling. Arms in the form of pistons, levers, dogs, etc. can be moved between retracted and extended conditions on the apparatus using actuations from remote communications. When extended, the arms engage inside the wear bushing or inside an adapter disposed in the bushing. When retracted, the arms lie within the exterior of the tool to avoid wear and damage when the drillstring is used for drilling or other operations. During deployment, the bushing supported on the extended arms is seated in the wellhead. The arms are then retracted through remote activation, and the bottom hole assembly is run further downhole. During retrieval, the retracted arms are extended through remote activation and engage in the bushing so the drillstring can lift the bushing from the wellhead.

Protector for the ends of an elongate member
12000520 · 2024-06-04 · ·

A protective cap (1) is proposed for an end of an elongate member (6), such as a male connecting end of a pipe or tube. The cap (1) comprises a sheath of flexible, resilient (i.e. elastic) material (2) to cover part of the outer surface of the member (6) at an end of the member. The protective cap (1) can be applied to the end of the member by unfurling at least part of the sheath 3 from a gathered configuration, such as a rolled-up configuration. The protective cap (1) includes resilient ridges (8) extending inwardly from an insert member (2), and/or a chip at least partly within the cap.

Flotation system and method

A flotation system includes one or more floatation modules, each having a first section and a second section, each having an internal core made of a buoyant material. The first section includes two end faces and a projection extending from one of the end faces. The projection has a contoured profile. The second section includes two end faces and a reciprocal recess in one of the end faces. The end faces of the first section engage the end faces of the second section such that the projection engages the reciprocal recess in a mating engagement. The outer surface of the flotation module include one or more grooves providing a pathway for the flow of circulation fluid. The floatation system may be attached to a tubular string during inner string cementing operations to reduce the load applied to the platform.

Wear bushing retrieval tool

A system includes a wear bushing retrieval tool. The wear bushing retrieval tool includes a main body, a plurality of apertures extending from an inner diameter of the annular main body to an outer diameter of the annular main body, a plurality of fasteners, wherein each of the plurality of fasteners is disposed within a respective one of the plurality of apertures, and a plurality of pins extending from the outer diameter of the annular main body, wherein the annular main body is configured to be disposed about a tubular string being run into a wellhead, and wherein the plurality of pins is configured to engage with a wear bushing disposed within the wellhead.

Seal sub system

A seal sub system for the connection of fluid lines, including first and second fluid lines, each including a terminal end with an inner diameter. A seal sub includes an inner channel and first and second pin ends, one pin end removably insertable in the fluid line terminal end with the other pin end extending from the fluid line terminal end. A seal forms a seal between the seal sub and the inner diameter of the first fluid line terminal end. The extending pin end is configured to be inserted into the terminal end of the second fluid line to establish a sealed fluid connection between the first and second fluid lines.
