11530592 · 2022-12-20 · ·

In one of its example aspects the technology disclosed herein concerns a wellhead lubricator. In an example embodiment and mode the wellhead lubricator comprises a yoke housing; a first clamp; a second clamp; and, an extensible actuator. The yoke housing comprises a first end configured for connection to a barrel housing and a second end configured for connection to a wellhead. The yoke housing defines a yoke cavity through which a barrel rod extends along an axis of the yoke cavity. The first clamp is situated in the yoke cavity and is configured for selective engagement with the barrel rod. The second clamp is also situated in the yoke cavity and is configured for selective engagement with the barrel rod. The extensible actuator is connected to at least one of the first clamp and the second clamp. The extensible actuator, the first clamp, and the second clamp are configured to be operated in coordinated manner to provide translation of the barrel rod along the axis of the yoke cavity.

Pipe handling assembly for use in horizontal directional drilling
11434706 · 2022-09-06 ·

A system for handling drill pipe on the exit side of the borehole in horizontal directional drilling operations. The system pulls the drill string out of the borehole and uses a top drive and pipe wrench to disconnect the individual segments of drill pipe from the drill string. Pipe gripping arms lift the disconnected drill pipe segment away from the rest of the drill string and release it into a nearby pipe rack. The components of the system are collapsible and can nest in one another during transport.

Systems and methods for underground pipe installation and soil clearing

Systems and methods for installing pipe underground are disclosed. The system includes a pneumatic rammer configured to provide a percussive force to a section of pipe. The system also includes a main jacking frame coupled to the pneumatic rammer, the main jacking frame including a surface for contacting the section of pipe. The system also includes one or more hydraulic jacks coupled to the main jacking frame and configured to provide a hydraulic force to the section of pipe. The system also includes a set of tracks coupled to the main jacking frame, the set of tracks permitting the main jacking frame to slide in a longitudinal direction. An independently displaceable soil-clearing system can be included to clear dirt coming inside the pipe during the installation and add extra jacking force as needed.

Rod jack apparatus

The present invention is a rod jack apparatus with four vertical legs that form a framework and first and second lower brackets connected to the vertical legs. Two hydraulic cylinders extend upwardly from the lower brackets, pass through a first horizontal plate, and are connected to a second horizontal plate. A primary clamping mechanism is situated on top of each of the two horizontal plates, and a secondary clamping mechanism is attached to the underside of each horizontal plate. The apparatus is configured to received a polished rod, and the primary and secondary clamping mechanisms are configured to grip the polished rod when activated. The sucker rod assembly is lifted out of the well when the first and second hydraulic cylinders are extended. The invention includes a method of using the apparatus described herein.

Pump jack with counterbalance

A pump jack with counterbalance system is provided, including a supporting structure, a linear actuator with a housing and a shaft, a first pulley carried by the shaft, a second pulley fixed above the first pulley, an elongate flexible member, and a weight cared by the shaft. The housing is vertically oriented and mounted to the supporting structure above a ground surface. The shaft has a first end received within the housing and a connection end that extends out of the housing and carries the first pulley and the weight. The linear actuator drives the shaft between extended and retracted positions. The elongate member passes around the pulleys and has a first end fixed relative to the housing and a second end connected to a surface rod, such that reciprocating movement of the shaft causes the surface rod to move vertically and the weight to act as a mechanical counterbalance.
