A method of drilling may include mixing, at the surface, a base fluid, a polyvalent cation reactive polymer, and a delayed source of polyvalent cation so as to form a treatment fluid; placing the treatment fluid in a subterranean formation to form a solid plug including the polyvalent cation reactive polymer crosslinked with the polyvalent cation; contacting the solid plug with a breaker so as to transform the solid plug into a reclaimed treatment fluid; and removing the reclaimed treatment fluid. A system for drilling may include a treatment fluid, at the surface, including a polyvalent cation reactive polymer, and a delayed source of a polyvalent cation, where the treatment fluid is settable in the formation to form a solid plug including the polyvalent cation reactive polymer and the polyvalent cation; and a breaker, separate from the treatment fluid at the surface, capable of liquefying the solid plug.

Process for decontamination of hazardous sulfur compounds in sour water tanks

A method and system treat contaminated water. In one embodiment, the method comprises treating contaminated water by introducing a methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution to a vessel. The vessel contains the contaminated water and iron oxide. The contaminated water comprises contaminants. In addition, the methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution comprises methylmorpholine-N-oxide and water. The method further comprises contacting the methylmorpholine-N-oxide solution with the contaminated water. In addition, the method comprises treating the contaminated water by allowing the methylmorpholine-N-oxide to react with the contaminants in the presence of the iron oxide.

Method for removing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from waste water

Disclosed is a method for enhancing the removal of a per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) component from waste water using a cationic polymer (e.g., a cationic polymer flocculant or coagulant). The cationic polymer enables gas that is diffused through the waste water to carry at least a portion of the PFAS component to the surface of water, creating a foam that can then be removed.
