ULTRA-SHORT DISPOSABLE SETTING TOOL
A setting tool for setting an auxiliary tool in a well, the setting tool including an inner mandrel having an upper section and a lower section, the upper section having an internal chamber configured to house a power charge; a barrel piston enclosing the upper section of the inner mandrel, the barrel piston having (1) an outer section fixedly attached with a tread to the upper section, and (2) an inner section slidably inserted between the outer section and the upper section; and an actuation chamber located between the upper section of the inner mandrel and the outer section of the barrel piston and configured to receive a pressured gas from the internal chamber, through a slot that extends transversal to the thread of the upper section of the inner mandrel.
UNIFIED SETTING TOOL AND WIRELINE ADAPTER KIT
A system includes a setting tool, which includes a housing, a piston, and an inner mandrel, and a settable device. The housing includes a first section configured as a setting sleeve, an intermediate section, and a second section. The piston includes an interior power charge chamber and a piston housing including at least one passage in fluid communication with the power charge chamber that interfaces with a top face of the intermediate section of the housing. The piston is mounted within a second bore of the second section via an anti-present mechanism. The inner mandrel is received in the second bore within a bottom recess of the piston housing and extends longitudinally through bores of the intermediate and first sections. At least a portion of the system is adjustable to eliminate a gap between the setting sleeve and a top of the settable device mounted on the inner mandrel.
ULTRA-SHORT DISPOSABLE SETTING TOOL
A setting tool for setting an auxiliary tool in a well, the setting tool including an inner mandrel having an upper section and a lower section, the upper section having an internal chamber suitable for housing a power charge; an outer cylindrical piston enclosing the upper section of the inner mandrel; a slidable ring formed concentric, and between the inner mandrel and the outer cylindrical piston; and an actuation chamber located between the outer cylindrical piston, the ring, and the inner mandrel, and configured to receive a pressured gas from the internal chamber, through a slot that extends transversal to a thread of the upper section of the inner mandrel.
REVERSE BURN POWER CHARGE FOR A WELLBORE TOOL
A power charge and method for actuating a wellbore tool with a power charge. The power charge may include a groove formed in the outer surface of the power charge. The power charge may include a first volume containing a first energetic material and a second volume containing a second energetic material that is a faster burning material compared to the first energetic material. The wellbore tool may include a tool body wall defining a power charge cavity. The groove formed in the outer surface of the power charge may define a gas pressure path between the tool body wall and the power charge, within the power charge cavity, when the power charge is inserted into the power charge cavity. The method may include coupling an initiator to the wellbore tool and initiating combustion of the first energetic material and the second energetic material to actuate the wellbore tool.
Behind casing well perforating and isolation system and related methods
Disclosed is a novel unconventional multi-stage completions system and method called a behind casing perforation and isolation system and methods. It replaces the traditional plug and perforating electric wireline operations, and employs dual action charges and isolation valve control mechanism behind casing with the isolation valves (flapper, ball or similar) inside casing which enable the completion of unconventional multi-stage wells in a more time and cost-efficient way.
Directly Initiated Addressable Power Charge
A method and apparatus for detonating a power charge in downhole wellbore using a heating element embedded within the energetic material of the power charge.
Compact Setting Tool
A compact setting tool that sets a packer or bridge plug in a wellbore and then self bleeds the gas pressure prior to pulling the string out of the wellbore.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVELY ENGAGING DOWNHOLE TOOL FOR WELLBORE OPERATIONS
A device for wellbore operations is configured to self-determine its downhole location in a wellbore in real-time and to self-activate upon arrival at a preselected target location. The device determines its downhole location based on magnetic field and/or magnetic flux signals provided by an onboard three-axis magnetometer. The device optionally comprises one or more magnets. The magnetometer detects changes in magnetic field and/or magnetic flux caused by the device's proximity to or passage through various features in the wellbore. The device can self-activate to deploy an engagement mechanism to engage a target tool downhole from the target location. The engagement mechanism comprises a seal supported by two expandable support rings, each having a respective elliptical face for engagement with the elliptical face of the other support ring.
Frac plug system with integrated setting tool
A frac plug system, downhole tool and method of securing a frac plug system in a wellbore in a formation. A mandrel includes a first end and a second end. A setting assembly is coupled to the mandrel at the first end, and an anchor is arranged at the second end of the mandrel and receptive to the setting assembly. The anchor is settable to engage the wellbore. A bottom sub is arranged at the second end of the mandrel and includes a first member movable relative to the mandrel. A gas generates a pressure to shift the first member along the mandrel to move the anchor against the setting assembly, securing the setting assembly in the wellbore via radial deployment of the anchor. The mandrel is separated from the bottom sub to leave the setting assembly and the anchor in the wellbore.
