Actuating tool for actuating an auxiliary tool downhole in a wellbore

An actuating tool actuable by degradation of at least a portion of a seal assembly to set an auxiliary tool downhole in an oil and gas wellbore. A system and method for actuating the auxiliary tool downhole in the oil and gas wellbore using the actuating tool by degrading at least a portion of the seal assembly of the actuating tool.

Multi-string section mill

A multi-string section milling tool has a longitudinally extending tubular body with mill carriers carrying hardened cutters that pivotally extend from a mill window in the tubular body by upward movement of a drive plunger. A downwardly biased piston mounted to the upper end of a flow tube is slidably inserted through a stationary thimble below the piston. The lower end of the flow tube is attached to a drive plunger which is pivotally attached to drive yoke links pivotally attached the mill carriers. The piston and thimble creates a pressure chamber in the milling tool. Fluid pressure in the pressure chamber moves the piston, flow tube and drive plunger upward to pivotally extend the drive yoke links and mill carriers radially outward through the mill window. Cessation of fluid pressure in the pressure chamber retracts the mill carriers.

Hydraulic thruster

A hydraulic thruster system for providing an axial force. In one embodiment, the system comprises a pump, a motor for driving the pump, and a hydraulic thruster comprising: a cylinder comprising a plurality of cylinder pistons; a shaft comprising a plurality of shaft pistons; a plurality of first pressure chambers; and a plurality of second pressure chambers, wherein the plurality of shaft pistons are positioned inside the cylinder, between the cylinder pistons to form the plurality of first and a second pressure chambers, wherein the shaft further comprises a first fluid passage connected to the pump and to the first pressure chambers, and a second fluid passage connected to the pump and to the second pressure chambers, and wherein the pump may pump fluid into the first pressure chambers and suction fluid from the second pressure chambers providing an axial force between the shaft and the cylinder.

A system used downhole in tubing is operable with pressure communicated via at least one control line. The system includes a tool and a stinger. The tool disposed with the tubing has a tool bore for passage of tubing flow. The tool has an operator movable between operable states, and the operator has a tool key disposed in the bore. The stinger removably disposed in the tubing is configured to insert into the tool bore. The stinger has an actuator in communication with the at least one control line. Actuated by the control line, a stinger key disposed on the stinger is movable with the actuator between positions. In this way, the stinger key is configured to engage the tool key and is configured to move the tool's operator at least from the one state to another.

Fluid-free hydraulic connector

Certain aspects and features of the disclosure relate to a hydraulic connector for use in a wellbore, for example, with or as part of a disconnect tool. The hydraulic connector can isolate hydraulic fluids in upper and lower hydraulic lines using hydraulic pistons. The pistons in the upper and lower parts of the hydraulic connector interconnect mechanically when the connector is engaged and communicate pressure without transferring hydraulic fluid across the interface. The hydraulic fluid can therefore remain confined within the upper and lower hydraulic lines even when the disconnect tool is disengaged, reducing or eliminating incidents of hydraulic fluid leaking or spilling into the wellbore.

Method and apparatus for setting downhole plugs and other objects in wellbores

A wireline conveyed, gas driven setting tool configured to set downhole tools including, without limitation, frac plugs, bridge plugs, cement retainers and packers. The setting tool is functioned by selectively igniting a power charge inside of a firing head. As the power charge burns, it generates gas that acts upon a piston area to stroke the setting tool. A dampening media, as well an optimized flow area at or near the distal end of the setting tool, act to slow the setting stroke.

Counter and system with counter

A counter including a housing disposed about a tubular creating a space therebetween, a piston disposed in the space and responsive to pressure up events in the tubular to compress a transfer chamber, a supply chamber fluidly attached to the transfer chamber; a trigger chamber fluidly attached to the transfer chamber wherein sequential pressure events cause the piston to move fluid from the supply chamber to the trigger chamber. A counter including a fluid incrementing configuration, an activation member in fluid force communication with the fluid incrementing configuration, the activation member having a first position where a fluid port is blocked and a second position where the fluid port is unblocked, the fluid port being fluid pressure connected to a tool to be actuated when the activation member is in the second position.
