Rod Lock Out Clamp
20220325596 · 2022-10-13 ·

A rod lock out clamp is disclosed. The lock out clamp includes a housing having a central bore for receiving a rod in spaced relation therethrough and clamp members in the housing for grippingly and frictionally engaging the rod in the bore. At least one of the clamp members has an inner end and a recess in the inner end, the recess having a profile with an arcuate portion having a radius of curvature that reduces from a maximum radius to a minimum radius. Manipulating means are coupled to the housing and the clamp members for moving the clamp members between a rod gripping position and a retracted position.

Surface safety valve

A surface safety valve for a well system includes a main valve body with a central bore through it. The main valve body has a centerline axis and is configured to be connected at a surface location above a surface of the Earth to a surface assembly of the well system and to receive through the central bore a flow of wellbore fluid from a subterranean zone conveyed by a production tubing. A gate is positioned within the main valve body and is configured to move from an open position in which the gate does not block flow of wellbore fluid through the central bore to a closed position in which the gate blocks flow of wellbore fluid through the central bore. The gate travels from the open position to the closed position along a gate movement axis perpendicular to the centerline bore axis. The gate includes a gate front end positioned on a first side of the centerline bore axis and a gate back end positioned on a second side of the centerline bore axis opposite the first side. The surface safety valve also includes an actuator positioned on the first side of the centerline bore axis. The actuator is configured to selectively push the gate towards the open position. The safety valve also includes a spring enclosed within the main valve body and positioned on the second side of the centerline bore axis. The spring is connected to the gate back end and is configured to bias the gate towards the closed position.

STUFFING BOX FOR VERTICAL PUMPS

A stuffing box for sealing a top opening of a vertical pump, including: a housing with a vertical tube for rotatably disposing a shaft of the vertical pump, an annular bearing that: divides the vertical tube in a lower half and an upper half, and fills an annular space between an inner wall of the vertical tube and the shaft, such that as less fluid as possible passes from the lower half through the annular bearing to the upper half, an outlet pipe for discharging the fluid passing through the annular bearing.

Modular well capping system, kit, and methods

A transportable well capping system, kit, and methods are provided. The transportable well capping system can include a plurality of modular subsystems capable of fitting within a bed of a standard full-sized pickup truck. The modular subsystems can include a sealing mechanism subassembly including a plurality of different sized seals for securing to a range of diameters of well casings, a gas flow meter subassembly, a hydrogen sulfide scrubber subassembly, a compressor and storage subassembly capable of storing the scrubbed methane in a storage tank, and a methane destruction subassembly capable of igniting the scrubbed methane gas and converting it to carbon dioxide. The subassemblies are sized to be capable of fitting within the bed of a standard full-sized pickup truck and can be driven to a location of an abandoned well and fluidically interconnected in a manner to cap the abandoned well.

STUFFING BOX ENVIRONMENTAL SEAL

An annular seal configured to prevent fluid from outside the wellbore from entering a well head stuffing box and tripping an anti-pollution control device. The seal comprising an elastomeric material and having a seam configured to allow the seal to installed on or in a stuffing box without dismantling well-head equipment.

GRAVITY ACTUATED CONNECTION MECHANISM FOR HIGH PRESSURE WELLHEAD APPLICATIONS
20230105282 · 2023-04-06 ·

A pressurizable assembly which comprises first and second assemblies. The first assembly has a plurality of cam grooves while the second assembly is size and shaped to intimately receive and mate with the first assembly. The second assembly has a connection member a plurality of radially mounted locking pin mechanisms for interacting with one of the plurality of spaced apart cam grooves. Axial movement of the second assembly, toward and away from the first assembly, causes the plurality of locking pin mechanisms to follow along the cam grooves to an intermediate locking position which locks the second assembly with the first assembly, while a subsequent axial movement of the second assembly, toward and away from the first assembly, causes the plurality of locking pin mechanisms to follow along the plurality of cam grooves and disengage the second assembly from the first assembly.
